The Hangover. Went to the cinema to see this which I rarely do and was soon reminded why. Despite being with my missus people, strangers, felt compelled to comment on " how nice the weather is". Wow. Riveting stuff, that. Well worth getting my attention and speaking to me; this is the type of thing the Government should be tackling. I shouldn't have to go to the cinema in fear that people are going to attempt to make my most hated of all talks, small talk.

The movie itself gets a 9/10. I couldn't breathe on at least four occasions, namely when the tiger first appeared ( who steals a tiger?) and when the little chinaman ( who was ace) just jumped out the boot. I love it when a full cinema , which incidently I dislike, all laugh together. It happened loads of times during this.

Collateral. 3/10. Glaring pot inconsistiences and if he hadn't produced a masterpiece with Ali, I'd hate Mann. Thought Foxx was very good , once again.

Lethal Weapon. 8/10. Say what you will about Mel Gibson but the son of a bitch knows story structure. I like this movie a lot.

Public Enemies - 6/10

I was very disappointed. I hate 'jiggly' cam, number one, but I expected more from the story and, frankly, more from Mann/Benant(whatever) with the screenplay.

Depp did a good job in his role... with what he could, because there was pretty much NO development in ANY character in this film. It just... happened.

It could have been so much better... it really could have... I am just so disappointed.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs 3D - 8/10

The last 3D film I watched was Jaws 3, with cardboard glasses with one red and one green film-covered eye. Now you get proper glasses, and it's fantastic. I loved it. I can't wait for the next Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks similarly themed blockbuster to be released.

Beverly Hills Cop - Best of the trilogy - 7/10.

Scarface - Long time since I last seen this classic - 9/10.

Ghostbusters - Right at the top of my all time favourite films. Aykroyd & Murray, what a combination. Brilliant - 10/10.

Spring Summer Autumn Winter... and Spring. 7/10

Another good film from Kim Ki Duk but not one of his best. I felt it was a bit too Buddhisty. It was filmed with the Asian audience in mind.

Much preferred 3 Iron (great film) and The Isle (very good).

The Hurt Locker. About a bomb-disposal squad in Iraq.

It is fucking awesome, and if you don't believe me, just check out the reviews on Metacritic (where it scored an average of 91%) from the likes of The New York Times, Slate, The New Yorker, Time magazine, Rolling Stone and so on:

Hurt Locker, The (2009): Reviews

It's not actually in cinemas until the end of August here, although it came out in the States last year, and perfect copies can easily be found online, if you are that way inclined.
