Small pleasures?

I’ve shared similar before, however..

Driving over to Keele earlier to pick my eldest up from University. I took my youngest with me for company, he’s seventeen.

We saw a sign for Port Vale FC. I asked him if he knew which famous pop star supported them. He’d no clue, and when I told him who it is, he said he’d never heard of him.

He 100% knows who John Lennon and David Bowie are. Absolutely knows who sung Horse With No Name. Doesn’t know who Robbie Williams is.

I wasn’t a completely shit Dad.

My dad was from Leeds and went to Keele. Maybe not an astonishing coincidence but, well, a small pleasure.

No. Didn't even know that was a thing. I'll see about downloading it though.

Always wanted to know a bit more about nature. Would be nice to be able to identify birds and trees.

Not that you’d need any kind of app and more an unintended bonus of helping out in my boy’s garden…they’ve get parakeets in the trees around them. In Glasgow!!!

Nice. I'll never forget seeing a massive flock of them at Hampton Court Palace, and thinking how absurdly tropical a sight it was.

I've been using the app a fair bit whilst walking my dog, a bit like Pokemon Go. Can't say I've heard anything particularly unique, but I at least feel like I'm learning to recognise birds now. Well, chiffchaffs at least.

I've seen a flock of Parakeets in a Park in Manchester too. Actually not far off the airport flight path. Imagine the headline.

'Landing on the Tame! Parakeets in the engine.'

Pilot squawked emergency code.

There is a blackbird that sits on the top of the cabin in my garden and sings to me while I work in the garden.  It’s really lovely, but does often make the Teams calls difficult.

I'd like to hear McCartney make a song from that.

Stopped in at the little brew pub near where I live after a mornings chores, got a nice pint of IPA and something to read. While I've been here we had "La Grange" by ZZ Top, " Don't Fear the Reaper" by BOC, "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC and we now got the eponymous track by Bad Company off the landlords laptop.

This old git is very chilled
