mario sterling

lallana gerrard henderson

allen can

moreno toure skrtl manquillo

Should be enough for QPR but beyond that....

I'd be happy with that but can't see Rogers starting Allen and Can.

I actually wouldn't mind Borini being given a run of games with Mario up front. At least he'll get in the box and make some space for Mario.

Fucking hell.

As it stands, it looks likely that the result of this season will be a failure to qualify for the CL followed by a new manager taking the helm during the summer. Like it or not, you don't keep your job if you spend what BR did last summer if it doesn't result in a top four place. That's modern football.

Not what I was expecting from the season, that's for sure.

For Fucks Sake! Nope that is modern football fans.

An unmitigated disaster, really.

Remember reading a pretty compelling statistical analysis of our squad before the season started that predicted that we would easily come top 3 or 4th at the absolute worst.  The one caveat?  If we missed Sturridge for more than 8-10 league games, the author said we would have a very hard time making top 4, as we were completely dependent on him for goals.

Now it seems that's exactly what we have.  For all those lineups featuring Mario, he's been very average so far and Coutinho without Sturridge breaking forward onto his throughballs has been a shadow of his former self.

It may seem strange to say, but we're more dependent now on Sturridge than we ever were on Suarez.

Mario will score a hat trick this weekend and then kick on from there

We will sort out another striker in January and the physios will work out how to fix Sturridge permanently

In March we will be complaining that we have spent too much money on strikers when we can't play them all

Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

Was listening to James Blunt - 'Goodbye My Lover' as I read the news and burst out in tears.

Negged for listening to James Blunt. Seriously, we can put up with all sorts of weirdness and deviancy on here, but occasionally you have to draw the line at the more extreme stuff.

Shit news, but sadly not exactly surprising. This international break was supposed to be the turning point with us getting everyone back ahead of an important run of games.

Do we have anyone in the U21s/U18s who is even close to pushing for a place in the first team squad? Oh to have a Fowler or Owen (Or Mellor!) coming through now.

People need to relax, this is why we spent 115 million in the summer so we could cover for injurys and have a bigger squad right?. Balotelli might be finding his feet but Arsenal had Bendter and Sanogo as backup, but still secured top four and last 16 of the c/l and a Cup. We have a big squad and the advantage of a manager in his 3rd year to get top four easily. Any half decent manager should get top four this season with the amount we have spent. We have lots of attacking mids, spread the goals around.

Surely someone in our club is capable of playing upfront and being able to kick a ball into a goal. We just need every other fucker to perform to the level they are paid too. Play gerrard further forward make him a threat we have more movement round the back than we do upfront. It's Rodgers job to manage with what he has, he either problem solves or twiddles his thumbs expecting change to just manifest on it's own.

Fair comment but you missed the bit about us playing like fucking dog shit so far this season.

You used the exact same argument last year when you realised to your utter horror that Brendan might just win us the league, desperate times called for your old "heads I win tails you lose" illusion. Good to see you still have it in your locker.
