he was terrible to begin with although not helped that it was at the same time West Ham really started going for it, in the second half he was okay, no worse than anyone else but at least he is a player who tries to make things happen, give me that over Downing anyday

Took his goal well but anybody being honest with themselves would admit he was fucking shit for most of the game and has been shit in most games hes played for us.

 

He looks capable of producing 5/10 mins of a decent performance but thats it.

Was pissed when he came on, and it seemed justified as he gave the ball away constantly. He was shit for most of the match, but it was a beautiful goal. Well in to him, he seems a nice lad.

Maxi would quite often do the same in that he'd play pretty poorly but pop up with an important goal. Given Cole is nowhere near match fit he's done pretty well in the last few weeks in the limited time he's had.

Brilliant finish that. Made up for him, not good enough long term but the abuse is weird. It's a shame he's on a big contract and his body lets him down but he's a good lad.

I'll happily see the back of him but he has scored twice and set Jonjo up for a tap in in his 2 games , deserves a bit of credit , even Henderson deserves some for his part in the last 2 games.

 

Neither are good enough but fair play to them for chipping in lately.

now I don't think he is a long term option at all but he has had 3 proper run outs this season, Swansea in the League Cup which was one of the worst performances I've ever seen, Young Boys at home where he got a goal an assist and was man of the match for me, then today, awful start to the game, wasn't bad but not particularly impressive either second half but he was one of very few trying to give us a cutting edge and make things happen and this resulted in his goal, so like I say not a long term option but he has something to offer for now imo

Great finish but he's not up to scratch. Not sure whether it's fitness or just the years taking their toll, but he shouldn't be getting near our fist team. Not half as bad as Downing though. He's just plain out of his depth and knows it.

Joe Cole is part of the problem, but credit where it's due. He finished his chance well, and got us in a position for a very important win. Good on him.

I don't dislike Joe Cole. He was a very good player once upon a time but sadly that was before he signed for Liverpool. It's not his fault and the club should have known better than to get itself locked into a long term contract on stupid wages.. Today he did show a glimpse of his old form and earn his money. For most of the other weeks I wouldn't have paid him in fucking washers. Be glad when its over which by could well be in January
