That lot would sort it.

I agree. Now who is getting divided into the relevant groups? Disabled? Over 60s? Lezzers? We need to know!

And why are you devolving yourself of any responsibility?

how exciting. hardly seems worthy of a press release and in fact a statement announcing the press release and more importantly I wouldn't have thought that would have been top of their list of priorities at this time.

It must be terrible to be so totally miserable about everything.

Time for SoS to at least consider the possibility of disbanding and donating any leftover funds.

I feel they are trying to make big deals out of small issue's so they still have a reason for existence...

I'll be forever grateful to lads like McKenna for the work they put in but it's time for them to stand back, take some time in the shadows and let the new chapter unfold. I also fully believe Jay should be on this new Committee if he so wishes.

LFC Fan's Forum

Friday 21st January 2011

Spirit Of Shankly is aware of Liverpool FC's plan's to create it's own Fans Forum, allowing for supporters to raise the issues and concerns they face on a daily basis, on a range on issues from ticketing and travel through to the club's ownership.

We welcome the idea that supporters, the very people who make this football club so special, should have a voice and be involved in open dialogue with those who make decisions that impact upon us. We would hope and expect that any fans forum will be truly representative of the supporter base and will encompass the democratic and open nature that would be required, something we as a Union have always ensured was in place for our members.

We look forward to hearing more about LFC's plans for future supporter engagement.

Mr Henry, on behalf of my SOS bruvvers here, it is incumbent on me to relay to you the feelings of our movement. Without wishing to je-opordise the delicate process with which, er, we and you are currently overseeing, we feel we must request some clarifications regarding the intricacies of this issue. Firstly, the 'democratically elected' thing. We in the Spirit of Shankly are forthright in favour of democratic elections - once our fellow fans have reached the level of civic and philosophical maturity to vote properly in a democratical way. So, in the meantime, we must strongly urge you to elect only those fans currently occupying leadership and certain ancillary positions within the infrastructure of the Spirit of Shankly organisation. Secondly: we would suggest respectfully to you that this new Committee be retitled 'The Spirit of Shankly Committee,' for clarity's sake. Third, one of my fellow bruvvers here, responsible for inserting several schoolboy grammatical errors and spelling mistakes in all SOS statements, would like to put himself forward to do the same for the newly formed 'Spirit of Shankly Committee'. If all of these conditions are judged favourable by your good selves, we, as leaders of SOS, can assure you that we will do all we can to make you feel as though your view counts in our great organisation. You will also receive half-price tickets to our annual karaoke sessions, which, I can assure you, are quite something. Thank you, gentlemen, and now please leave our office.

I am a previous committee member of the FSA and am very much in favour of a fans' union. I think it does need to be independent, however, and remain nervous of Club or Football Authority sponsored arrangements; they tend to be sanitised.

Having said that, I am in favour of the Club plan as well - have already put in my application - but SOS should remain in place too.

My view on this is simple

In any business the rule when dealing with the masses is divide and conquer, i might be an old sininc but these new owners have learned from the mistakes made by G&H and how successful SOS was in bringing the last owners to account.

If it was me i would be trying to marginalise any opposition regardless if i had best intentions for the club in mind or not

They seem to be doing all the right things without doing much at all if we look at the basic facts we havnt added a player to the squad that everyone knows needs to be added to yet we have agreed a sale for a player who is a first team squad regular im reserving my judgment untill we see what happens dont forget G&H bought Torres so even is we sign a big name in Jan, i still wont be convinced as to the intentions the new owners have. they will just have a tick in the plus column they will need a few more before i change my stance
