Napoleon preferred generals who were lucky rather than good.

This is not a post to slag off Lucas because while he is not a centre back, he is always diligent, is well respected by everyone at the club and is one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet. However, he is not lucky. It's saying something when the catchphrase he's become noted for really applies to himself.

Come this summer, Lucas will have been at the club for 10 years. Aside from local legends like Stevie and Carra, the only other player to do that for us this century is big Sami. In that 10 years, we have won just one trophy, the League Cup in 2012. Lucas was not part of the team because he was out with a serious injury.

Lucas is one of the luckiest players we've ever had.  His arrival introduced an unparalleled 10 years of failure.  I could count the number of decent performances from him on two hands.  And he's still getting paid!  A lovely lad etc but fucking hell.

Nice guys finish last,

he's running out of gas

He's caught out and he's chasing from behind

Sometimes he's at his best

But we all fear the worst

He's washed up our defence is down the drain

Playing centre back please tell Jurgen that he's insane

He's so unlucky I could cry

Every player has it's truth but now the jokes us on

Ten years of Lucas the nicest guy

Oh nice guys finish last

With Lucas at the back

Don't pass it towards him

It'll break our spine

Don't get this Lucas being such an awesome nice guy thing. Where has it come from? The one thing I've seen him do when his guard was down was that fake driver thing, and he came across on that as a snide at best. Ringing someone and telling them he didn't like the driver. Mocking him and offering money to sing. Proper bell end he came across.

He's the lad who turns up to footy every week, doesn't get picked and never says much, so people think he's a lovely lad and vote him club man of the year. When he gets a run I games it all goes to his head, the confidence allows his real personality out and he's actually a cunt.

Fair enough - I am out of most loops to be fair. My opinion of him has never really gone towards that "I love Lucas, me. Worra good lad."

And the small bits I have seen I haven't warmed to. Poor lad - I bet he's devastated about it.

I've seen various interviews over the years when he's come across really well. Good attitude and really seems to love the club. Apparently really helped the other Brazilian lads settle in.

He also talked very emotionally and well about that plane crash that killed most of the team from Brazil who were on it.

Just comes across really sound
