Ian Ayre will be presenting Liverpool's case, the article says.

And do I hear £25 million? £25 million, anyone? Thank you sir; 25 to the throbbing, beetroot-faced simpleton at the back wearing a motorcycle helmet.

Anyone for 26? No sir, sorry you can't beat your own bid. You'll need to wait for the other side to make a higher offer.

The injury has probably done us a favour fee-wise.  He had 3goals in 8 games.  If you imagine he probably would've played up to 30 games this season with our league cup run and europa league then he'd certainly be on double figures by now IMO leading Burnley to claim the top end of the spectrum.

I'd be surprised if it was more than 7.5million but think he's probably worth at least 12 on the open market pre-TV money.

£6.5m plus £1.5m in add-ons is probably very close to what we offered Burnley in the first place. They were the ones talking about a record compensation fee and all the stuff about witness statements, performance analysis and so on in the hope the fee might be north of £10m, which is what Spurs had offered before his contract at Burnley expired. Apparently Burnley will also be entitled to 20% of the profit from any sale. I don't know if that is profit based on book value after depreciation or profit over and above the fee we paid Burnley.
