The club love it too, when Benitez got shit over his "small club" jibe - their spokesman was very defensive about it and made a big deal over it. Benitez didnt literally call them a small club, he just said that they played negatively and this is what happens when you play the small clubs. Everton exploited it magnificently turning all their fans attention onto Rafa and Liverpool looking down on them.
