It would be interesting to see the reaction of the press if Benitez was to play the kids and reserves. As last year and the year before that Top class British managers like erm Moyes, O'Neill, 'Arry and Gary Megson played squad players and got knocked out and recieved no slack whatsoever. Rafa would be on a loser anyway if he played Torres and Gerrard and they got injured he would get slaughtered for not protcting them especially with England in the World Cup. Then if he played his kids he would get slaughtered for not taking it seriously.

 

You're a tit. O'Neill did get slaughtered for resting players, especially when they then went on and did shit in the league.

At what stage would we join it and what is the format, another group stage or knockout? I agree with those saying a trophy is a trophy also it'll give us a chance to let the likes of Kelly and N'Gog gain first team experience.

 

I think there's another two rounds before the quarters.

The Count would sooner just go out of Europe than into the Europa.

 

We were always going to have a crap CL tournament. It has been truly crap this season but even Rafa can't weave his magic every season.

 

We are not out of it yet although we are most likely.

 

Europa League is certainly not the thing we aim for but it is a tournament. And we have to aim to win it.

 

We don't always get what we want but a trophy is a trophy. We shoud fight with everything we have to win that trophy.

Personally I think we should go out to win it because it's a final at the end of the day. Field a second string side in the League and go all out in the Europa League and FA Cup!

The UEFA Cup (call it what it is) is a big part of our history and i'd love us to win something.

 

Saying that...i'm fucking gutted and slightly ashamed we'll be in it with the rest of the shite.
