Shia Lebouf is gonna be playing Yorrick in a Y: The Last Man trilogy of films if rumours are correct.

Also another shout for Maus here, read both of them for the first time a few weeks backs and thought they were amazing, it's easily the most vivid account of the Holocaust i've ever seen in any form of medium.

Couple of good books if your into Judge Dredd. JD: Origins is a good book tells the story of how the Judges came to being some good twists. Also a couple of good Judge Death books namely Young Death and My Name is Death are pretty good also. Finally a graphic novel called Camelot 3000 good retelling of the Arthurian legend, and I love Brian Bolland's artwork (early Dredd artist)

If you can get hold of the original prints of the Dark Horse Aliens books I'd recommend them to anyone. I believe that more recent prints have changed the characters (i.e. they're no longer Hicks and Newt because of the Aliens 3 canon) but frankly the world would be a far better place if the storylines from these books had been used for Aliens 3 onwards.

Aliens 3 *shudders* even Brian Glover couldn't save it.

Sorry forgot to mention Superman : Red Son is also excellent it reimagines the Superman story from a point of view of Kal-El's rescue ship crashing on a Ukranien farm and him becoming a great hero of the Soviet empire. A very good read !

Just ordered DC's Star Trek Mirror Universe saga, read the comics when I was a kid and they were fucking ace.

They've re-released some Dan Dare stories too which I wouldn't mind getting my hands on, they're a bit pricey at just under £11 though, and they're not self contained so you'd have to buy two at once in most cases.

Being a big fan of Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis I'd suggest :

The Invisibles,

Marvel Boy,

Kid Eternity,

Planetary,

The Authority

and also a graphic novel called Bite Club by Howard Chaykin, who's supposed to be one of the best writers out there too. Short but it's good. The Invisibles will always be my fave though. Be warned though The Invisibles is definitely not for kids so don't be passing it to them to read too if you get it! It has all types of crazy shit going on by the time it hits it's 2nd series aswell.

Actually if you have kids you'd just need to make sure you read it first, then you'd just know to keep it away from them, and possibly the same with a couple of others from that list. Oh and how did I forget to mention Transmetropolitan? Also one of the best, by Ellis.

Manga is ok. Most of it is shit though, and I hate the way none of it is in colour.

Some of the best comics out there are not in colour, The Walking Dead is one of the best ongoings at the moment.

I'm not a fan of Grant Morrison at all, been years since I tried readong it but I remember hating The Invisibles and The Filth,

also thought Batman RIP was pretty much unreadable!!

If you didn't get far you might not have got to the point that it starts getting great. That is a fault of the series though by the looks of it, I think Grant tested a lot of people's patience with the first series. (but I guess you just might not like his writing style either.) Didn't like the Filth as much but still thought it was good as it went on, and never read Batman RIP, but I don't read the DC/Marvel popular Superhero stuff as much. Crisis on infinite Earths and Final Crisis were good though, and a few other things that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Ah, Blade of the Immortal is good black and white, and I remember really liking Hellsing aswell.
