  1. No offence, but that's all a bit 'Football Manager'. We have to live in the real world. If Suarez stays then there is absolutely no way we will have the money to sign either Lewandowski (Who I doubt would have any interest in signing for us anyway) or Daimo. Secondly, Carra on the coaching team is what all Liverpool fans would love to see, but that will not be happening, he's going to be a pundit on Sky next season...this is something we know to be a fact.
  2. 1. Sturridge - Scored a hat-trick, enough said 2. Coutinho - Outstanding again today, he's looking like a top class player and for only 8.5m 3. Henderson - I thought he was very solid in midfield today. contributed both in attack and in defence
  3. If Wigan go down I think Kone would be an excellent signing for us, not as a replacement for Borini, but just as another option. Currently we have 3 strikers in our squad, personally I think you need to have four. If I thought it was any way realistic I'd suggest Lukaku...but we'd have no hope there. I think we'd sign Kone relatively cheaply and I think he'd definitely score goals and give us a slightly different option up front.
  4. Jesus people can talk a hell of a lot of shite on here...
  5. I'm amazed that some people missed the Rawls being gay thing, that scene was a brilliant moment in the series in my opinion, made all the better by the fact that they never really came back to it or highlighted it and made it a 'thing'.
  6. 1. Sterling - Provided the bit of magic to create the goal and was excellent overall 2. Kelly - Rock solid at right back 3. Suarez - Scored the goal and should've gotten a penalty
  7. 1. Sterling - Our most potent attacker today 2. Allen - Reminds me of Xabi Alonso, could be a great player in the making 3. Enrique - Thought he was back to his best today
  8. I hate to be negative about any of our players, but I just feel that Carroll will never be good enough, and the longer we hold onto him the more his value will drop. On his day Carroll can be unmarkable, I know this, but unfortunately his day only comes a handful of times a season, and we need to be playing a particular style to facilitate him to have such a game. I think Carroll is our 21st Century version of Emile Heskey. A pretty honest player, who will have a few great games a season, but overall will flatter to deceive. I think, like Heskey, Carroll will only ever score 10-12 league goals per season no matter who he's playing for, and we need somebody who can give us more return...who that player is, I don't know, but I sure hope we find him soon. Suarez is a typical No. 10 in my book, if we could sign a real goal scorer to play the No. 9 role then we'd have a very dangerous forward line when you throw the likes of Borini, Gerrard, Sterling and hopefully Assaidi into the mix.
  9. Why in God's name are people arguing about Dinner/Tea/Lunch on the 'Summer Transfer Thread 2012'?! Stupidity like this is one of the reasons why I come on here less and less...
  10. I understand all this. The point I was making was that he shouldn't be compared to the tea lady, that's extremely disrespectful to a guy who's doing an excellent job at the club. There's no reason why he shouldn't be considered. Personally I don't think it would be the right appointment right now, but there's no need to go slating the guy or somebody for thinking outside the box and suggesting him as a potential candidate.
  11. I'm sorry but did I miss the memo telling all us fans that we are now Aston Villa? Or is it Blackburn? I'm just not sure any more!
  12. Lets not get totally carried away by the wave of shite coming from Sky. If we are to believe what Ayre has said, then we will be speaking to a number of candidates and will pick the best option for our club. I think it's fair enough to speak to Martinez and try to speak with Rodgers, it does not necessarily mean that these are the only people the club have in mind. Rumours being bandied around seem to point towards a list of up to 12 managers having been short-listed. Personally I hope that we appoint a relatively young manager (with more calibre than the above two) who will be given time to mould the team to play the type of attacking football we all crave. I don't know if this will happen, but I'm not going to get hysterical about it...well not quite yet anyway!
  13. Because that's what Barcelona have done when appointing their last three managers and is why they're one of the best teams in the world... Sometimes you have to think outside the box a bit and take off the blinkers. Not saying Borrell is the answer, but surely you can't completely ignore him as a candidate, for God's sake, are we not club who nearly invented the 'promote from within' philosophy back in the day with the likes of Paisley and Fagan...ever heard of the boot-room?
  14. I can see where you are coming from, but I think centre midfield is a position where we are very weak. I agree with whoever said that in two years Lucas, Shelvey and Henderson will be a good trio, but I feel for next season and going forward, we badly need a centre midfielder who can really control a game, much like what Alonso used to do. Even in two years time I don't see either Henderson or Shelvey being this type of player, they are more in the Gerrard mould, good at bursting forward and getting goals but not being able to control a game from midfield. I think Lucas will be a big addition to the team next season if he comes back strong. We also badly need to sign a striker who can bring some consistency and a wide player who has a bit of pace and technical ability. Fingers crossed.
