Absolutely top drawer this from John Higgins. Giving the player of the season a proper mauling so far.

Yep. Said the other day to my dad that Robertson has to be the favourite for the worlds (bear in mind I'm a massive Higgins fan) and he said if John gets hold of him he'd fuck him up on purpose. One of these will win the worlds I reckon. No-ones near them. Even Ronnie.

Some final this mind. A chin against a punch.

While Higgins is my favourite player of all time, I don't mind Robertson, he's class on and off the table.

Two absolute greats going head to head is compulsive viewing. This is Snooker at it's absolute best.

Yep. Higgins is the best all round player of all time. Robertson is absolutely sound, genuine boss fella. Player of the season for sure.

Come on the wizard

One of the great finals this. It's been a brilliant tournament all week, have to say I like the longer format games for entertainment and quality, the best of 7 or 9 frames all week and then a longer final isn't for me. I know why they do it, but it's why I love the Crucible and the fortnight, you can settle in and so can the players.

What a final, fantastic snooker, no matter who your favourite player is, this is brilliant entertainment.

@Bjornebye win or lose, where does this season's achievements place Robertson?

For me, he needs to win another world title or two to be considered for the top 6 of all time.

If he wins the worlds he probably touches 6th. I thought about the top ten a few months back

Ronnie

John Higgins

Hendry

Selby

Davis

Williams

Reardon

Robertson

Trump

Alex Higgins

For me anyway. Hendry was unreal but he wouldn't have won anywhere near as much with a prime Higgins and Ronnie about.

What a final, one of the greastest I've ever seen

4 matches this week could be held up as the greatest matches ever. The standard now in snooker is as great as it's ever been. Cried there seeing Denise and the girl cry. Robertson has been unreal. What a match. can't wait for the worlds.

Oh and if you aren't giving me your top 10 at least take mine apart

Tough to argue with that list Comrade, pretty much how I would rank them.

The 'so and so wouldn't have won x. y and z if so and so was playing' is just a generalation thing though, had Davis been born 5 years before, Reardon wouldn;t have won so much, Hendry for Davis, O'Sullivan and Higgins for Hendy etc...

What is true is that we have a total golden age of Snooker now, where veterans like Ronnie, Higgins and Williams are playing brilliant snooker and Robertson is now at the very top of his game.

IF Robertson were to win a couple of Crucible titles, then he could leapfrog at least one above him in the table, but untiol he does, 6th is about as high as he reaches.

I agree with most of yours although my ranks differ, and I can't leave Jimmy out though, he's the reason I fell in love with snooker so I'll bump out Trump to make way for the Whirlwind.

Ronnie

Hendry

Davis

John Higgins

Williams

Selby

Reardon

Robertson

Jimmy White

Hendry digging John out there the little prick.

If anyone was gonna jump that list it would and should be Trump but he's realised for all his potting prowess he's not that good in the trenches. What a tournament.

Not sure about John being behind Hendry and Davis. Trump is a superb player but I see your point. White was entertaining but not top 10 for me. I'd have Ebdon over Jimmy tbh.
