Klopp will definitely only want two or three players in addition to Keita, I reckon.

A defender, another midfielder and an attacker.

Any new goalkeeper will be a replacement for Mignolet, and more likely somebody like Butland or the Czech kid we were linked with last week.

I'm less concerned with how much they spent and much more concerned if they're backing the manager in what the manager wants to do.

I agree, but good luck putting out that line in the through the smoke and shrieking on here if we haven't spent £X by September.

I also agree.  But, I would like us to acquire some better players than we have, regardless of whether they cost half a crown or a zillion.

Of course. And relatively speaking, the purchases of Robertson for a crown and Van Dijk for a zillion suggest that we seem to have gotten our act together in that regard.

Unless I've just jinxed us.

I'd be made up with 3 signings (I don't include Keita in that). Considering were losing Can and I'm not sure Lallana is worth having around we definitely need another midfielder aswell as Keita then a defender and forward/attacker, think he'll leave Karius for another season.

El Rojo: ‘How am I doing, boss?’

Jonah: ‘You’re doing a great job, son...a great job.’

Liverpool have earned £82M as a base TV fee, £33.9M for the number of their PL games screened and a further £33.8M for finishing in fourth place in the table. The figures, which amount to £149.6M in

total, are compiled from official PL distribution data. (Times)

Not counting the Champions League income then..

Figures actually amount to 149.7M.

Where is the 0.1M, John?

149.7m domestic tv deal

72m Champions League money

25m increased gate revenue from main stand

5m Western Union sleeve sponsorship

30m Shirt Sponsorship

45m New Balance deal

20m new corporate partnerships

142m Coutinho sale

40m approximate summer sales

Add to that increased revenue from the new club shop and Sturridge and Can off the wage bill. Guaranteed income for next years CL and hopefully a bigger shirt sponsorship deal after Standard Chartered runs out in 2019.

And all to spend on transfer fees, eh!

How much we spend is not really the issue but if we want to challenge properly for the title and have a proper go in Europe again then we have to look at sorting out the big drop off between our 'best 11' and the players we use to 'rotate'/cover.

Having no AOC until maybe around Christmas and probably losing Can leaves us exposed in the middle of the park even allowing for Baby Keith coming in....the forward back up is not up to scratch and needs improving.

Building a squad with the depth, quality and robustness to cope with the demands that hopefully will be placed on it of big games coming thick and fast is what Klopp is doing and this tricky window with world cup etc, shortening it and players having stunted pre seasons is gonna make the importance of getting things done early and done right even more crucial this season.

I read something in the echo last week written by one of the regular LFC journos about 'number 9' being 'up for grabs' early next season anticipating Bobby missing games early due to world cup and pre season being affected.... if that is case for example then i hope we aren't starting the season with Solanke or Ings being the players we call on...and as the season wears on and Bobby again for example is in fucking Ecuador on a Thurs and we have a 1230 game on Saturday it would be nice to know we aren't running him into the ground (look at sone of our results following international games/cl games) and that we have better options...

Earlier in the season players like the Ox and to an extent, Can, Wiljnaldum etc were often held up as not being good enough for the kind of squad we want to build, regardless of their availability.

As you say, we definitely need numbers, its the balance between potential and patience versus proven quality, not forgetting good management (eg-Pogba)
