Agreed. My own view is that sex crimes against kids are as bad as it gets, but the all crimes against the person are despicable in my view and the relative indifference to rape and complete silence about domestic violence are disturbing in comparison.

Brutally torturing a paedophile is a sure fire way of curing the mental scars of a victim. That is exactly how it works.

 

Unfortunately a lot of people have no interest in compassion or understanding, rather getting their rocks off violently and pseudo indignation one-upmanship.

I think it's more prevalent than many care to admit and trying to understand it is horrifying.

 

A step from that is the desire to see paedophilia as inhuman and work from there.

 

Obviously that is very easy for me to say, as I haven't been affected by it directly or indirectly, but in the context of the hang 'em high mob, most often that is also the case.

I learnt in the last few days that someone I know is almost certainly facing a very long stretch for paedophilia.

 

Keep your head down. Serve your sentence. And take advantage of all the counselling and courses they offer you.
