So to put it in perspective, we're second in the league only to a Chelsea team who were on a phenomenal run, and we're in the semi final of a cup competition, but half of our players aren't up to it ?

Tough crowd,

Got it in one. Don't forget that our manager has only been here just over a year and had us in two cup finals with a team of massive under performers. He hasn't got a clue has he!

Up to what though?  Being 2nd in the league half way through and being in a cup semi?  They're up to that, as the facts bear it out.  Are they up to more than that?

Only time will tell.  Unless you have a crystal ball tucked away anywhere !

But anyone thinking that Klopp is going to go out and replace half the team during this and the next transfer window is kidding themselves.  When he took the helm he said the squad didn't need massive changes, and he's sticking to his guns with it.  And I honesty believe that's his decision, rather than the "FSG won't spend money" claims.

We needed more from the whole team today, and since it wasn't there you start looking around to see who might be able to grab hold of the game. There were kids all over the park, and then an older head in Lucas at the back. To my eyes it was a day for Emre Can to stand up and be counted. He should have led by example and demanded better of everyone around him, as well as himself. By sheer force of will he should have dragged the team to a result against Plymouth today.

I'm sorry to say I don't think he will be a big player for us. In fact, I could see him depart in summer.

Does anyone know what his contract situation is? I vaguely recall (so could be completely wrong) that it is less than two years. Did we have some talks in the summer and nothing was agreed? I could be making it up, but I wonder if a new deal hasn't been signed because Can thinks he is on the verge of greatness and wants that sort of salary, and we are not as convinced?

I don't want to be like a dog with a bone on this one, but I'm not seeing it with him. When he arrived I thought he would become a really good player for us, but it hasn't quite happened.

If we keep him he will be a decent squad midfielder, and if we sell there will be plenty of takers, but for me he's not good enough to be a fixture in the side and we need a midfield kingpin in there.

Emre Can thinks he's twice the player he really is but is half the player he actually is. You get me.
