World Cup 2014

Well done Algeria. Capello's Russia looked just as average as Capello's England and didn't deserve to get out of the group because they didn't do enough in all 3 games to really threaten the opposition. South Korea were generally tidy on the ball but they lacked cutting edge and nous in the final third.

Only in 1966 have England done better than the Germans. Both sides got as far as the quarter finals in 1962, but England won 1, drew 1 and lost 1 of their 3 group games whereas the Germans won 2 and drew 1 of their 3 group games. So the Germans were better overall there too.

The only World Cups Germany have missed were the inaugural event in 1930 when they (along with many others) didn't enter, and 1950 when they were banned following the war. England didn't enter the first 3 tournaments, and didn't qualify in 1974, 1978 and 1994.

If the Germans feel things aren't going right, they look at their structure and the people involved and try to rectify it and implement a new and hopefully more effective long-term plan. The English get complacent and look to blame individuals in their squad or other factors (such as the heat, the 'Hand of God', penalty shoot-outs, WAGs on tour etc) for any failings. The main issues never get addressed because it means people in privileged positions might actually have to do some real work.

EDIT: for you HaraldHard, this is a continuation of my argument that you plagiarised a couple of years back. Thought you might like to know.

Really looking forward to Saturday's games. It's been a great tournament thus far, I'm just hoping it doesn't get all cagey and negative in the knock out stages.

Hard to believe two out of Belgium, USA, Costa Rica and Greece will make the QFs.

The Nigerians have also boycotted one training session and threatened to boycott their second round game if their bonuses ('appearance fees' as they're calling it) are not paid. It might be a stereotype but you can rely on the African nations to display a lack of unity and organisational chaos.

Funny enough the Chileans Sanchez in particular have said that exact thing.

And he's right. You couldn't get a more establishment cunt than this fucking cunt. No fucking way this cunt lets Brazil cunting lose, the fucking cunt. I'll tell you one thing, he won't be able to fucking open his cunting front door for the amount of fucking dog shit I'm going to ram through his fucking cunting letterbox.

For fuck sake, just seen its Webb for tomorrow's game. No chance he gives anything against Brazil. That cunt is going to turn up as umpire of my local cricket team at some point.

Just cunt off.

He's been hand picked by the Brazilians there. He's a bigger bottler than Coca-Cola.
