Good result, not the best performance and I'm not convinced with the 3 central defence setup but our 2nd half performance was a welcome improvement over previous games. Suarez looks sharp and Sturridge is still on fire. Just missing Coutinho, if we get him back soon we'll be flying.

If Sunderland play like that they can beat the Mancs. Maybe. Nice to see the table but I'm concerned that we don't have determined players, Henderson is very determined but unfortunately not great. Shows how a team needs great strikers to win games and we have two.

Again we looked very solid with the 352, apart from when Gardner got through and was offside I don't remember them troubling us in open play.

 

Johnson would also have had a field day with the space Henderson was given and coutinho would definitely add something.Its the way forward for us imo and I hope we stick with it.

Poor first half. Better second half performance. I thought we responded well after the Sunderland goal. Not brilliantly, but certainly with more intent than we've shown in previous games.

 

Sums it up for me as well.

 

The save by Mignolet just after their goal was massive.

Good result that against a team with a new interim manager to impress, so makes it the all the sweeter.

 

Nice to get Suarez back and amongst the goals and also Sturridge being very unselfish in setting them up.

 

Couple of below par performances but that should take away from the win and baring Mig's error for the goal, the defence didn't do much wrong. Moses and Hendo the worst performers for me,

 

Palace next, so hopefully another 3 points.

It's going pretty well at the moment, 4 wins and a draw in 6 games. The 4 wins were played out uglily, but they are still wins.

 

I have to agree with you that it's not sustainable in the long run, but I'm sure the team will be trying to improve on their overall game play when they manage to find a formation and solve the bugging problems.

I think one of the main things we've shown in this game is that we can be clinical, something that we've been lacking for the past few seasons, so it's something to feel optimistic.

Winning away from home against a pumped up team with a point to prove, and with injuries to key players basically depriving us of the system of play that has served us well these past 6 months. I'd call that a pretty good afternoon.

Back on track after a bad week. Made harder work of it than we should have by giving a bad goal away but I didn't think the overall performance was anywhere near as bad as some people are making out on here. Sturridge and Suarez were great together. Been a great weekend for us with the way other results have gone for us and nice to see us taking advantage for a change when others have slipped up.

If he could pass the ball half as well as Allen he'd be more useful. As it is he contributes absolutely 0. He doesn't deserve his place in the team at the moment

Not particularly convincing, but an efficient performance with 3 goals and more importantly 3 points, away from home.  Can't really complain with that.

 

Not long ago, we would have struggled to get any result with that type of performance, espcially on the road.

 

Not creating as many chances as last season, with the level of intensity and passing.  Hopefully, we can rediscover that and maintain the added steel.

I took a shot at Moses in the first half, but I thought he played much better in the second. Stayed in the centre of the pitch, kept his head up, and moved the ball quicker.

 

He might do there until Coutinho comes back. Particularly with Suarez/Sturridge up front.

Seems like a team of square pegs in round holes. Moses is a winger, out of place infield. Rodgers trying to fit all the center halfs he's bought into the side. No quality balls from wide areas, Lucas dos'nt do enough for his position.

 

On the plus side Toure, Gerrard,Suarez and Sturridge all played well.
