Food combinations that are just wrong.

A mate of mine eats banana and beef paste butties. Absolutely disgusting. Another one I think is wrong is my dad putting red sauce and branston pickle on a roast dinner.

 

Anyone else know any more of these weirdo's?

Not sure if I've mentioned it but in Queensland a big thing is banana, bacon and cheese on toast. Apparently they're lovely, but I'm jut not sure . . .

I can see that working. Banana isn't that sweet that it would fuck it up. If you had say strawberries, it would probably be wrong as, but with bananas, I think it could work.

The man would have been 76 this Saturday. Here’s to his favorite sandwich: Peanut Butter, Banana, Bacon, and Honey on toasted white bread.

 

Ingredients

 

2 tablespoons butter, softened

8 slices white bread

1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter

1 large ripe banana, sliced

1/4 cup honey

12 slices bacon, sautéed until crispy (optional)

Instructions

 

Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread. On the other side of half of the slices spread peanut butter. Place banana slices on top of peanut butter. Drizzle honey over bananas. Place three bacon slices on top of the banana, then place the remaining buttered bread slices on top, butter-side-out.

 

Place sandwiches on a preheated grill pan or griddle. Flip them over when they become golden brown and crispy. When the sandwiches are browned on both sides, remove to plates. Slice in half and serve immediately.
