Oh...I did`nt know Spearing played in the championship.

 

The question was never about Spearing... It was why we would be looking at this player instead of a midfielder in the championship, and I answered that particular question.

I don't see the point in us going for this guy, if we even are in for him as it is The Mirror after all, when Spearing is there ready to come in.

And I agree with you. It would not make any sense, unless some midfielders are on their way out, and Rafa wants to spend that money elsewhere.

As Frankenhooker pointed out, the work permit issue might save us from this one. If his passing is iffy in the Brazilian second division, don't see how he can be good enough for lower half of Prem, let alone us. All too easy to get carried away from some wondergoals, but you get decent free kick takers in Leagues One and Two in this country.

22 years old, no full international appearances and currently with a second division side in a country which exports hundreds of it's best players every year.

 

Why would a top Premiership club be interested in such a player when he obviously hasn't attracted attention previously? He's obviously another dud.

 

I have to say that similar thoughts also crossed my mind when reading his cv.
