Mate of mine, Alex Godfrey, has written a piece about fan movies inspired by real films, including a chat with the guy who made the LOTR thing. It's in the Guardian Guide today. Get it, beaches.

Arsebiscuits. Only just read that post. Is it online?

Hmm. Tough one.

I had reason to neg briefs recently. I can't remember the last time I negged you. It could be considered that this fact tells its own story. However, I've just pictured you wearing some of her underwear and it's something I really wish I hadn't done. I feel the need to soak my head in bleach.

Unfortunately, you just don't carry off the underwear look enough for me. So briefs it is.

"Right now the studios are turning a blind eye", says Clive Young, author of the fan-film book Homemade Hollywood. "But I think that's going to have to change, because someone's gonna make something controversial, like a high-end Superman; one where he goes crazy on Kryptonite and starts killing babies."

Am I the only one thinking this would blow Singer's riseable Superman Returns out of the water?

Just watched it, it was pretty good and if you take into account the budget and the fact it's a non profit independent film it was fucking amazing.

It's only about 40 minutes long so it's not a full length film, it looks fantastic not cheap at all as good as the LOTR films for the most part. If you like LOTR you'll definitely like it.

Agree Rex. Thoroughly enjoyed it. You wouldn't know it was made on a miniscule budget. The best thing for me was that the storyline makes sense. Which figures, as it was adapted from Tolkien's addendums to LOTR. I never knew before why Strider ended up in the Prancing Pony pub. Good effort, Gandalf.

Edit: The orchestral score is bang on too. Very Howard Shaw esque.
