How comes nobody on Sky has criticised Man United for not man marking players from the corner that Newcastle scored from?

Might be because they don't concede loads of goals from set pieces usually?

There's always goals going to be conceded from set pieces, that's just football. We concede too many through that route though - did you see the stat that someone posted on here the other day about how we only conceded ten goals from open play last season?

Mad, if true.

We don't look comfortable from defending crosses full stop. We certainly need to improve in that department this season.

Gaz Baz set up two of their goals. One cross from the left and another through the middle.

Wonder if Rafa was watching?

He already knows what Barry can do. It is the 2 Yanks and Parry that need convincing. Barry would be a very good signing, but surely the priority should be to sign someone who can offer something different to what we currently have ie. a wide player.

That is the kind of thing Barry does. That is why he will be a very valuable addition for us. I honestly have no clue why more people don't see that. Just because he's not a show-pony doesn't mean he won't make a decisive contribution.

With a bit of luck at the back, Newcastle could nick this.

They won't, but they could.

You're not wrong - I've lost count of the number of times they've been drawing or losing at half time and gone on to win.

I assume they'll go onto win.

So out of the top four fixtures so far:

Sunderland (A)

Porstmouth (H)

Newcastle (H)

West Brom (H)

I'd say ours has been the most difficult - all four are three pointers but ours is certainly the most challenging.
