How can he be so mildly depressed about things if he is banging Konnie Huq? His entire career is ruined but he is banging Konnie Huq so he has had a massive result

Yes. Better to borrow from a bank than a pawn-shop though

If they are Socialist & can't eat, it must be our fault, right? Maybe we can't call them Socialist, as by TLW standards, they aren't? -

Simon, please. You are right about the owners. But RBS are a mild solution, not a problem. What is our interest bill without them?

There may be a case for regulatory change. GS were bailed out. However they did very little wrong in this attack: caveat emorp (sp?) I think you are a Steve Keen fan? -

Socialist North Korean people die of starvation. The capitalist South is a mad but rich place. That must be our fault, eh? They are very close to Tokyo so it matters to all of us -

The US made every bank sell them an equity stake. Good idea. They should have discounted the AIG debt (which saved GS, hence the attack) GS are pretty innocent on this charge -
Unless we win the f* WC, he must be sports personality of the year...

The US has made money from their bail out. -
Domestic Leagues are determined by cash. Europe & specifically CL is what matters. Hodgson was the best in the UK this year. Jose is now the top manager overall, especially as they had a hard draw. The 2nd best is probably still Rafa, which will distress much of the forum.

RBS is not our problem Without the fact that they are scared of UK customers it would be a lot worse. The people involved in this campaign love our club but i really think it is not a good approach...

Or spent £20bn on an integrated medical records IT system which was budgeted to cost £2bn & still doesn't work. Originally expected to cost £2.3 billion (bn) over three years, in June 2006 the total cost was estimated by the National Audit Office to be £12.4bn over 10 years, and the NAO also noted that "...it was not demonstrated that the financial value of the benefits exceeds the cost of the Programme"[14]. Similarly, the British Computer Society (2006) concluded that "...the central costs incurred by NHS are such that, so far, the value for money from services deployed is poor"[15]. Officials involved in the programme have been quoted in the media estimating the final cost to be as high as £20bn, indicating a cost overrun of 440% to 770%[16]. The parties wish to reduce systemic risk in the banking system and will establish an independent commission to investigate the complex issue of separating retail and investment banking in a sustainable way; while recognising that this would take time to get right, the commission will be given an initial time frame of one year to report. A UK version of Glass-Steagal. Good idea.

In the novel (& later TV show) "A very British coup" they could be ignored as the left-wing PM instead borrowed the money from USSR, that extremely prosperous Socialist state. Perhaps Brown could have continued employing a million extra people in the State every 10 years & got the money from North Korea & Cuba....

Scottish independance is a must. The 2 countries are so far apart politically that either is totally disenfranchised by the other.

This coalition is potentially excellent with an opportunity for some sane middle ground: economic liberalism not tainted by reactionary Tory nonsense. For all it's good intentions, every Labour adminstration since the war has ended in over-spending, over-interference in markets & a collapse in sterling. This was no different. State socialism does not work whether it is adminstered in East Germany, North Korea or from a mad Scot in 10 & 11 Downing Street. In Britian we have always then had to turn to a Tory party to correct those mistakes. That has meant having to take all their mad reactionary, anti-Europe borderline racist nutjobs as well which is a horrible but neccessary price to have to pay for some level of prosperity & economic opportunity. This result means that it may actually be possible for the 1st time to have some non-Socialist economic sanity without any of that reactionary Tory nonsense. We can remove the worst of both major parties: no more extreme government interference in the market; no more extreme anti-Europe, homophobic or racist nonsense from the reactionary Tory wing. Prosperity does not come form the State increasing it's employment by over 1million people in just over a decade. It comes from people taking risks with the possible prospect of enjoying the rewards if those risks come off & not having the State seize them. With this coalition Britain actually faces the prospect of some grown-up government (no Socialism, no reactionary bullshit) for a change which most of the rest of Europe seems to manage perfectly well on.
