There's one in the Netherlands which CrouchieBoy (or Ghost) were telling me about which RATM are playing, I'd love to go to that but I don't think I'll be able to afford it. Glastonbury would be great, Jay-Z could be a brilliant show.

I've never been to a festival, always due to money, I need to break myself in during the next couple of years.

I really can't believe that Rage are playing T in the Park. I really hope that doesn't rule them out of any of the other festivals, I was hoping to do Download and Leeds. It would be an absolute travesty if a great band like them ended up at Glastonbury.

I know, seems a bit odd to me.

I was listening to Zane Lowe just after Christmas and he had been to 'Big Day Out' in Auckland (I think that's what it was called) and he said they were fantastic and that he had heard rumours they would play at least one festival in the UK this year.

Please be Leeds or Download... or at least a couple of Stadium gigs. Wembley would be sweet.

:D oh dear me. You are a bit of a twat when it comes to Glastonbury, and you putting the biggest brand advert of them all (Download) above it is proof.

But you probably love The Snickers stage, the Carling stage and the Vodafone stage.

Yeah go and paddle around Glasto with all the other yuppies, rest of the IT crowd and scuffy indie kids, Weeksie. Sounds Awesome. Glasto, sticking it to commercialism with shit music since 1846.

Its more than the music though is'nt it? Plus there will be someone decent headlining another stage when they are on.

Oh yeah I know. Went last year for the first time and had the best weekend of my life.

More often than not the Other Stage has better acts on than the Pyramid anyway. It certainly did last year.

I was planning on going to Camp America this summer, but my bastard application got rejected (no childcare experience) so instead I have decided I am going to go to Glastonbury for my first ever festival.
Make sure you are captain anal with the application process, it's a royal pain in the arse getting them. Have 17 browsers open 1 hour before it goes on sale and keep on hitting that redial. Last year when 8 of us went, 1 girl managed to get them all by keeping staying logged on to the right URL 1 hour before they went on sale. I had no luck whatsoever with my 17 browsers.

I'm becoming increasingly disillusioned by festivals. Didn't go to one last year but did Virgin the year before. Radiohead were fucking outstanding, Dandy Warhols and Young Knives too but other than that it was mainly dross. Things that have cropped up over the last few years like 'the strongbow dance tent' do my head in. Fuck off. I mean if that's the kind of shite you want, go to a fucking crappy nightclub in any town on a Saturday.

Anyone want to know whay wankers like Jay Z play festivals these days? Money. It's impossible to make any money making singles these days and you can only make any money with albums if they're excellent and people actually want to add a physical copy to their collection. If Pink Floyd released a new album tomorrow they'd make a fortune as it'd sell shit loads. If Jay Z released an album all the kids would download it and he'd sell about 12 copies because he's a talentless tuneless cunt.

The only way these wankers can make money is by selling merchandise. And the only way they do that is by touring. The bigger the gig the higher the merchandising possibilities.

Seeing all the stupid little tarts in their sparkly shoes at V in 2006 did it for me. Trying to avoid the mud, complaining about the food, whingeing about the weather. Fuck off, that's not what festivals are about.

Festivals died the minute they started attracting stupid cunts like that. The last decent festival I went to was in 1992. Carter USM and Blur. Fucking awesome. Since then the media luvvies have got their teeth into festivals, the music industry leeches and hangers on and the fickle cunt 'music' fans have ruined the concept.

There's parallells to be drawn here with our club but I won't get into that here.

Jay Z is playing because of the kudos that goes with being a headline act at Glasto. The man is rich beyond anything and although record sales go up slightly its not the main reason nor is selling t-shirts.

As for V thats your own fault, its by far and away the most commercial of them all.

But, at the end of the day if you notice these idiots you are obviously not having enough fun my man.

So it's suddenly "cool" to hate Glastonbury then?

It would seem so. Its fucking ace, those who dont believe have obviously never been.
