He hasn't played for Spain for a couple of years. Llorente is a little more versatile.

Sure I read Saul wasn’t very good last season?

 

Although he started 33 games for the league winners, he can’t have been that bad.

Did Chelsea have an option if he played a certain number of games? Otherwise you have to assume he wanted to lock in the salary for his last year and Chelsea offered more than he thought he would get on the open market
