A generally decent half of football. A few Lyon players hitting the deck easily but they aren't spoiling and shithousing like Sevilla were. We look a lot sharper than we have in pre-season (although you'd hope the players get sharper and sharper as pre-season goes on) and the passing in the final third is far crisper than it has been of late.

 

Alisson must still be on the ale after his trophy-winning exploits since June as that fumble was inexplicable. Still wasn't a penalty mind you, as the ref has been so shit he makes Jon Moss look like Collina.

 

Ki-Jana Hoever looks like such a fantastic prospect. Like most young defenders blessed with pace and athleticism, he'll be spending a lot of time playing as a full-back to enable him to learn about defensive positioning as a unit without always being in the thick of the action. With diligence in training and the faith of Klopp and the coaching staff, he could go really far.
