Not a Heston fan then?

All that cooking talent' date=' wasted on gimmickry.

I'd give The Fat Duck a go mind.[/quote']

I realised someone might pipe up with 'what about Heston?'

I quite like him but what he does is more theatre than cooking to my mind

You buy anything yet?

Le Creuset 26cm frying pan in volcanic to match yours is £79.20 in John Lewis.

Bloody hell, no idea they were that expensive.

Picked up quite a lot of their stuff in a charity shop years ago for a fiver.

They're really heavy so only tend to use the big casserole thing

They were never cheap but seem to have increased in price hugely in price. My first pieces were wedding presents and then added to them in sales. I don't like their ceramic stuff, though. It chips very easily

(Shoulder) Lamb Provencal (tarragon vinegar)... with dauphinoise potatoes?

Ah lamb, harder to get here than in the uk. Love the stuff. It would be great if they made them in pig size.

Got an enormous gammon hock from the butchers today for £2.99.

Going to do that on Thursday with lentils and spinach and make a pea and gammon soup too.

I wondered if that was a Scottish term. They do make great soup. A winter staple for us. What kind of peas?

Yep under £3, and that'll do 4 or 5 meals easy.

I dont know how your butcher stays in business; that looks like 20+ quid's worth

Shouldnt we be discussing white fish and steamed vegetables?

Hmm doesn't look cured to me, sure that's not just a leg of pork rather than gammon haha. £3 for what looks like easily 5-8lbs of meat, treats his regulars well.
