Fantastic, fucking brilliant City - let them think they have won the league,let Rooney think he's score the league winning goal, let Fergie prepare his winners speech for the Daily Mirror and sly sports and then snatch it away right at the end ha ha ha ha ha fucking ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They might have bought the title, but they did it fighting, they did it with style and they gave a bunch of long-suffering, loyal supporters a never-to-be-forgotten moment that they deserved.

 

And most importantly, they did it to Man Utd. Finally, at long long last, United get that heart-breaking dagger to the heart that their gracelessness has entitled them to. Finally.

 

I'm dead jealous as well. Wouldn't that title feeling be a wonderful thing to experience, one day, again? Will we ever?

They spent over £900 million, with a £500+ million deficit, to achieve 89 points, 3 more than we got in 08/09. They conspired at every turn to throw it away; against a 10-man QPR they were a ragged bunch, with no shape or rhythm to their play, with the winner coming from the mad, mad QPR decision to boot the ball right back to them at kick-off. Mancini is an absolute fraud.

 

As for the supporters - the atmosphere in the ground was a disgrace, at 30 minutes the crowd were getting on the teams back. Fans were pictured leaving. City measure their achievements against United's success as Everton do ours. The song played during the trophy ceremony, the countdown-clock, the mascots wearing cartoon suits; it all stank of smalltime. Not a club deserving of moments like that. Not by a long, long way.

 

Still - can't remember celebrating a goal like that since Benayoun's at Fulham.
