That little piece of skill just showed the difference between Aurelio and Konchesky. It's a shame that Aurelio is always injured.

Very good first half and a pleasing win.

 

West Ham may have dressed in a chicken suit, lain on the altar, and pressed the sacraficial knife into our hands, but you can only beat what's put in front of you and in the first half we did that with aplomb.

 

Second half was disappointing as we could have pressed our advantage to better our goal difference, but overall a good night's work. And as I said on the Johnson thread, a different player when you play an attacking lineup.

We didn't. We just didn't go at them, because the job was done. No point when you have a game midweek as well.

Nah in all fairness you can only beat whats put in front of you. Was a good performance from us. I just know that there will be people jumping in to say anyone doubting Hodgson is wrong etc...

 

But we won't get an easier game than that this season. Want to see us go out and fight from hence forth instead of retreating into our own half

Merilies was class in the middle, MOM performance. . lucky to have him with Gerrard out. Johnson answered some of his critics, especially in the first half, but cant help thinking he would be a better player if he had a proper haircut. Torres looking sharper by the game, unlucky not to score with a cracking effort.

Remind me of the old days when we would do all the hard work in the 1st half and then see it out the rest of the game not capatilising on a poor team and scoring more.

The 2nd half was fucking boring but i don't care as it's good to have us on MOTD on Saturday night (not having to watch Colin Murray fuck up MOTD2) for once and see us win. We'll loose our next league game most likely as it seems each week is a different week form wise for us.

1st half was good. 2nd half was ok - but we somehow let West Ham into the game by not playing like we did in the 1st half. Stupid to stop with the good, positive football. Should have won 5-0.

 

Oh and West Ham were utter shit today - winning 3-0 against them isn't worth much. We'll see how the Tottenham-game goes.. That'll be a different beast.
