CM 01/02 install help!

Help needed I downloaded the (legal) free version of CM 01/02 and it is asking me for a CD when I want to start a new game. Can anyone provide me with non-technical help on how I get this to work?

I take it you've also installed the official patch (v3.9.68 )? If not search those forums Irishlad posted, there'll be a download link in the FAQs.

 

You'll need Daemontools to run the game without the CD. Get that if you haven't already and just mount the image once the game and patch are installed. Installing the game can be a pain in the arse - especially if you want the updates - but it's well worth the effort.

Does the official patch update the player to modern ones etc? If so I DONT want that I just want the original game as I feel like a bit of retroness.

 

How do you mount an image? Or is it fairly self explanatory once installed?

Looks like the links are all dead on gamecopy.

 

The patch does NOT update the game at all, it just fixes a lot of bugs in the free version and you will need it if you ever want to update the game. Get it here:

Download DAEMON Tools Lite from here:

When you've applied the patch and installed DAEMON, it's just a case of double-clicking DAEMON icon on your desktop which will put an icon in your system tray... right-click that >>>>> VIRTUAL CD/DVD ROM >>>>> Device 0 >>>>> Mount image. Find the CM0102 zip file you downloaded in the beginning and select that then just run the CM0102 game you already installed and it will play as if the CD is in the drive.
