If that is the team then it is exactly what I´ve predicted in this thread few days ago. Looks good.

 

Rafa is showing to the youngsters(Kelly, Darby) again, that they will never get a start under him.

Kelly has got a start for us before you know. As has Darby, Ayala, Spearing. Eccleston has good a couple of appearances.

 

Insua has played 50 games for us and he's still a youngster.

 

Kelly played once in Champions League, Ayala just when Skrtel and Agger were injured and we didn´t have Kyrgiakos. Eccleston started once in Champions League.

 

I meant it in general and it is hardly to disagree that Rafa plays rather senior players out of position than the young ones in position. Insua is the only case in Rafa´s 6 years at club. And he had no choice cause Aurelio is always injured and Dossena was shit.

 

I thought negging should be used for other purposes than to punish different opinion.

Would prefer to see Mascherano alongside Gerrard in the middle and Johnson or Kelly at RB, but no excuses for that team not beating Wigan given the relative ability levels.

 

I have more or less given up expecting victories away from home, though.

Is now really the time to be taking risks with youngsters?

 

I find the discussions about this, and the lack of games Aquilani is getting, just baffling.

 

Shit as it is, the target for the rest of this season is 4th. Which means as few risks as possible will be taken.

 

I don't necessarily agree with it, but its what will happen.

 

Mascherano is currently a better right back than Degen, Kelly and Darby. Which is why he'll play there. We can only hope Johnson is fit enough to play.

I use negging for people saying things like youngsters will never get a start under Rafa when it's not true.

 

Probably a bit harsh but it's only a neg ffs.

I'm expecting the same as usual; poor quality football, tight game and a feeling of frustration. Hopefully we'll see something a little different than normal though.

 

I think Wigan will try and play a bit of football which will also afford us the same luxury. I think we'll win this one easily enough.
