Israel - A Rant

It’s a really sad situation. Unfortunately the current toxic environment re anti semitism in UK politics would make it difficult for our politicians to criticise this horrible crime against humanity.

Really? From where I'm sitting, our politicians seem more keen to criticise this "crime against humanity" than any of the few thousand other crimes against humanity that happened yesterday.

It's quite astounding to see people justify the collective and indiscriminate punishment/shooting of hundreds because of the allegedly questionable actions of a few.

It's not far away from the "sippenhaft" policy. Yet, fervent nationalism is blinding people so that they can't see what they've become.

You'd only defend it if you were a hateful cunt, a stupid cunt, or enjoy being deliberately contrary on the internet.

Irony? Or just total ignorance of the Hamas charter?

The Hamas charter is the biggest own goal the Palestinians made.  Because Israel and their supporters believe it gives them justification to shoot who they want when they want, and to maintain their systematic inhuman treatment of the people whose land they continue to steal.

Not relevant mate. They’re shooting at protesting civilians, not Hamas.

Most of those killed have been Hamas or other militant organisations, so I don't know where you get that idea from.

Not that I think they should be shot, it's a grave error to give Hamas the martyrs they want.

Please send the source. How many of the 43 casualties were confirmed Hamas members? Nothing really on the Guardian or Haaretz on that unfortunately.

At least 26 of the first 32, according to Israel. Admittedly, not a neutral source, but they're the only ones researching this in such detail.

Given how many of the deceased are pictured posing with machine guns on the attached PDF, it's probably safe to say they weren't innocent civilians.

Thank you for that mate. I read an article claiming that a lot of the accusations from Israel are false though.

Asking Israel about the people they've murdered. Fucking hell.

"Yeah, all Hamas, mate"

"The unarmed protesters?"

"Hamas"

"The children on the beach?"

"Hamas"

Anyone asked Mark Regev? He's a pretty stand up guy, he'd defo give you the truth.

The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC), also known as Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center in honor of Meir Amit, is an Israeli-based research group with close ties to the Israel Defense Forces and the American Jewish Congress.

The organization has close ties with Israel's military leadership and maintains an office at the Israeli Defense Ministry.[6] It has been described as the "public face of Israeli intelligence"[7] and as "a 'pipeline' for the release of information that Israeli military intelligence does not want to be directly associated with".
Several former members of the Israeli intelligence community (Mossad, Military Intelligence, the Shin Bet and Nativ) have criticized the "symbiotic" relationship between the center and Israeli military intelligence and the center's establishment, arguing that the connection of military intelligence with a propaganda body would be detrimental to "objective" and "ideologically unbiased" analysis.[3] Steven Erlanger wrote in The New York Times that a spokesman for the center had acknowledged that it receives some Israeli government financing.[8]
