Larry Lloyd R.I.P.

Recommended Posts

In one of his first games for the ressies he heard Clemence shout ' my ball ' but cleared it anyway, and woke up in the ambulance on the way to Walton Hospital. Fantastic career and trophy haul, mainly with Forest, but a title with us in 72/73.

RIP Larry.

A key part of Shanks' rebuilt side as the replacement for Ron Yeats. Scored what proved to be the winner in a UEFA Cup final, and went on to win the league plus Big Ears twice after joining Forest. RIP Larry.

Very sad news, remember him well. Won the UEFA cup in 1973, our first European trophy. Not bad for a lad we picked up for peanuts from Bristol Rovers. We were great at picking up hidden gems in those days; Keegan and Clemence from Scunthorpe for under £60 grand for the pair of them.

I really liked Larry, but when Phil Thompson broke into 1st team reckoning there could be only one first choice CB, and he new it. I think he asked for a transfer out. The club didn't want him to go but he got his wish and subsequently had a great career.

RIP Larry Lloyd.

Before my time, I only remember him as a Forest player, but I remember my dad saying what a good player he had been.

This is a lovely tribute by the club, our Twitter account always seem to get it right when it matters.

I'll never forget that Leicester game.
