The second half of the season.

Well that sure is a surprising stat but we were appalling for lots of those games, and loads of those wins came when the pressure was off. Even with the spurs win we threw away a 3 goal lead against a truly appalling  demoralised team.

To be fair, our performances and City's cheating assisted totals over the past 5 years have fucked our perspective of a good season. Most clubs consider 2+ points per game as a good season. Besides ourselves and City, only Arsenal last season, have won more than 76 points in a season since 2018.

Over the course of the second half of the season, we were inconsistent but "good" overall. Man United were hammered 7-0, 6-3 and 4-0 last season and finished 3rd.

Im not for a second endorsing settling for a similar season and it's a bollox that we dropped from the unbelievable heights of 3 x 90+ points in 4 seasons, but the points haul for the second half of last season wasn't appalling.

We picked up and finished strong unbeaten in last 11 games of last season - Won 7, drew 4.

But prior to that were still putting in some abysmal efforts in Jan and Feb - we lost 2 back to back before that 11 game run.

Some of the lowlights even in 2nd half of season were the 3-1 defeat at Brentford in Jan, Brighton dismantling us 3-0 again in Jan.

A 3-0 good hiding at Wolves was a particular low in Feb.

Real Madrid embarrasing us in late Feb

The debacle at Bournemouth in March - after we blitzed the mancs as well made it all the more hard to take.

But that was all last season - clean slate and all that....but we are as it stands mind unbeaten in 13 league games....

The thing I hated with some (if not all) of those defeats you mention is we seemed to give up and accept the result. It's a trait that we saw so often, I'm far convinced it's fixed yet, they can only bring that belief back with more and more results and showing will for the fight in tough moments.
