Well, I for one am shocked.

When asked the question, my mind immediately went that Klopp would have responded with this action...

Its the fact that every year ther club go out of their way to make out they are the equivalent of Kenny Samson kipping on a park bench with a can of Special Brew

Under promise, over deliver.

Klopp has never been one to bemoan lack of signings. It's always been "make the best of what we have".

I dont see why we couldnt sign 3 players like last season. Konate, a midfielder and a forward. Teams may be broke but there is also less economic uncertainty than last summer. I think we will be able to sell a few and we will backload deals like last summer.

What a way to motivate your players on the eve of probably our biggest game of the season. “Yeah these bums are finished I’m going to crack open that war chest and replace them in a few weeks.”

Exactly.

Talk is RBL want all the money upfront for Konate.

However, given the Keita transfer, or certainly the Werner transfer, I'm sure this will come as no surprise to us.

Well yeah, it is a release clause. But given  “talks are advanced “, I am assuming we are fine with that in that deal.

Agreed.

I think it’ll still happen even if we aren’t in the CL.

Pretty sure we will keep Kabak.

So now we just need to find someone on a free and a 7 million rated Greek forward.

I thought we would keep Kabak for sure but signing Konate would point to not signing Kabak. Unless we sold Matip as well or something like that.

Slim chance I think for a couple of different reasons.

After this year I could see Phillips being sold on (for everyone's good) - the book being closed on Rhys and us going with 5 senior CB's, including Kabak and Konate.

Liverpool do not need to spend big in the summer transfer market to address the problems they have faced in the Premier League this season.

This doesn't mean we are not signing anyone, or making signings or refreshing the team. I love the way our fans read the above and conclude we are not buying anyone!

'I don't think we need to score 5 goals a game to win a match' = 'Klopp just giving up now'!

Goalkeepers: Ali (world class), Kelleher (very promising),

Defence: Trent(world class), Robbo(world class), Virgil(world class) Gomez (level below world class but maybe in a few years can get to that level), Matip (world class for 5-10 games a year), Tsimikas (who knows), Philips (solid defender who is not top class but has great qualities that gives him a chance of a good career away from us), Williams (not up to it-maybe Championship level), Kabak (very promising - potentially a top level defender in a few years),

Midfield: Hendo (world class), Thiago ( poor season but was world class at Bayern), Fabinho (world class), Gini (world class but going probably), Milner (great pro still), Curtis Jones (exceptional talent), Ox (always injured - when fit England squad level), Shaq (love him - very gifted and when fit which is never a very good premiership player)

Forwards: Mo (world class), Sadio (world class), Bobby (an average player now living off his world class label), Jota (top class - possibly world class very soon), Elliot (phenomenal talent), Divock ( cult hero, Championship level player).

Being honest, that's still a very good squad going into next season. A good healthy window and a fit squad come August and I'll be excited for next season.

Some of the players who I have labelled world class like Trent and Sadio have had shocking seasons, but I'm of the view that is still their level. I'm happy to give someone like Thiago the benefit as well. Lads like Bobby are no longer that level and I can't see them reaching it again.

Great post, Ronnie, lad. Nail on head.

Nat Philips would be a great player at Palace. And I daresay a few on here would have been recommending him as an option this January. I like him, but I agree - he isn't good enough.

The only thing I like more than seeing a player come through the Academy is when we turn a good player into a world class player ala Robbo, Mo, Mane, Bobby, Gini, Fab etc. I'd be very happy with Myron Boadu this summer.

Not sure about some classed as world class there but a good post. I see our world class players currently as Allison, VVD, Robertson, TAA?, Fabinho, Salah, Mane? Thiago? Konate is already top class, Jota too. Henderson and Wijnaldum are top class international players now. World class not so sure.
So many top players too. Things are not so bad if we bring a few in for the none contributing jokes like Keita, Chamberlain et al.

Just realised I didn't even include Keita. Shows how much he is in my mind!

Fair point on world class label. I always consider it to be a player that would more or less be good enough to get in any team in the world. Others are stricter on it in terms of being the actual best in their position. If there was a world eleven made in the morning, I'd see Virgil (definite), Fabinho (probable) and possibly Ali as three candidates. Maybe a few of the others are in with a chance on previous form.

TBH Robbo has alot to prove next season. He has been woeful without the big Man next to him.

I think that’s a bit harsh.

Although we’ve not been as defensively good without VVD, I don’t think it has been as cataclysmic as we all thought it might be. Defensively, Robbo has been, well, Robbo.

IMO, the issues have equally been at the other end, and I class Robbo more in that category. Very few of his cut backs seem to reach our players these days.
