I'm not surprised to be fair, the Labour Party ( Corbyn & Coup MP's ) have been talked about with a dismissive sneer in practically every tv or newspaper piece I have seen , while May has been talked of as a cross between Joan of Arc & Thatcher.

Give it a month or two when Boris is blundering around the world, the Brexiteers in the cabinet are back tracking on promises & the economy is still in the doldrums & we will see what they say then.

Thing is mate we know what they will say, Corbyns never getting a break, things were far worse under Thatcher and yet the vitriol aimed towards her rivals by the media was at least the equal and probably worse than Corbyn is experiencing now, going by your username I'm sure you can remember what I'm talking about. The game is not going to change, the only answer is an opposition leader as skilful as a Blair and I'm afraid they don't come along very often.

Not expecting a complete U-turn , King,  & accept that the right wing bias will always be there , but surely this nauseating honeymoon period with May will have to move down several notches.

Have noticed some pieces today already pushing the Bojo the Clown angle after his appearance with Kerry , and with dead-eyed no-marks like David Davis leading Brexit negotiations & Jeremy Hunt being left in charge of the NHS there is plenty of scope for problems.

Good news this, although I do have almost no respect for any of them.

I'd like to believe it, but can anybody explain the maths to me on this as I thought it was reported that Smith had about 90 backers & Eagle about 65 so I don't understand where the 90 rebels figure comes from as this more or less ties up with the no confidence vote figure doesn't it ?

He admitted it, not sure it was 999 but another emergency hotline. He was working as a reporter for the BBC at the time.

On the plus side, it means that at least he's had a proper job before, unlike so many Labour MPs (mentioning no names).

Journalist is a "proper job" but being an MP isn't?

Does your owl fella know about your contempt for elected office?

Sorry I've no idea what the point of a £25 fee is I just know that Corbyn is useless. Don't think Smith is any great shakes either.

Corbyn is useless at playing the puerile games that the media and most MPs play.  The pigfucker, for example, is very good at those games.

It all depends what you want.  I'd prefer someone who is good at giving a shit about what goes on outside Westminster.  I daresay the 183,000 people who have just put their money where there mouths are would agree.

Just in case anybody still has any questions about the plotters' commitment to democracy.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-36848945

The Wallasey Constituency Labour Party group (CLP) has been suspended following complaints of bullying and intimidation.

The Labour Party has launched an investigation into the allegations in former Labour leadership contender Angela Eagle's constituency.

The Wallasey MP said "bullying, intimidation, misogyny and homophobia have no place in the Labour Party".

Kathy Runswick, chair of the CLP, said she was "astonished" at the suspension.

A North West Labour spokesman said: "Any complaints of bullying or intimidation and allegations of misconduct are always taken very seriously."

Wallasey CLP's vice chair, Paul Davies, who denies any intimidation took place, said no allegations had been put to the local party.

'Not surprised'

All Labour Party constituency and branch meetings across the country are currently suspended while the leadership contest takes place but other CLPs are still able to meet in certain exempt situations.

In the case of Wallasey, however, the group cannot meet under any circumstances until the internal investigation into bullying is finished.

Ms Eagle, who pulled out of Labour's leadership race on Tuesday, said "it is right" that the party investigates.

"I hope that the issues can be resolved, and that we can have an active, inclusive and effective local Labour Party that can tackle the real problems faced in our local community", she said.

It is believed that complaints about an annual general meeting last month were what prompted the suspension.

Mr Davies said he was "not surprised" at the suspension because "I think that Labour at the moment, or some of the officials, are trying to shut down all democracy in the party."

"We had the temerity to say that we did not really favour a challenge to [Labour leader] Jeremy Corbyn so they shut us down."

'Unprecedented'

He said the only indication the CLP had been suspended was the secretary finding she was unable to log into her Labour account on Wednesday morning.

Ms Eagle has faced unrest among some of the Wallasey CLP since she indicated that she might challenge Mr Corbyn.

window was smashed at the constituency office building last week after she announced her intention to run.

Three other CLPs have been suspended from meeting in all circumstances, in Gorton, Brighton and Hove and South Shields.

The head of politics at the University of Liverpool, Stuart Wilks-Heeg, said the situation was highly unusual.

"It really is exceptionally rare that a political party has to suspend local parties.

"To have four local parties completely suspended simultaneously, and also to have a generalised suspension in CLPs meeting, really is unprecedented and unheard of."

The decision to suspend the party will not affect the rights of individual members to vote in the leadership election.

The CLP who have finally had a belly-full of the person foisted on them against their wishes all those years ago and have now decided to debate deselection are suddenly branded homophobes, misogynists and bullies.

Good for you and them but you ain't getting power so it means nothing at the end of the day.

I'd rather have a socially retarded leader that votes against trident and the Iraq war than a Obama style orator that doles out meaningless platitudes and treats PMQ's like a rap battle but agrees with the tories when it comes time to vote on various policy bills.

What's the point of that? watching two dickheads roasting each other and then voting the exact same way. How do the membership or the millions of labour voters benefit from that scenario?

Linking this because it's a genuinely interesting read.  The Guardian have surveyed constituency Labour parties for their opinion on Corbyn's leadership - this isn't an opinion piece but actual comments from the various CLPs.

I'd rather not have that as the only choice.

I don't know what more I can add, I don't know what to tell you, enjoy decades of Tory rule.

It's hard not to come to the conclusion that decades of Tory rule is exactly what they want.

Somewhat similar to those Christian evangelicals who want to provoke WWIII, in order to advance Armageddon and the Second Coming, it seems that Corbyn's new political puritans would be happy for the Tories to lay waste to the country in order to kickstart the longed for socialist revolution against economic neoliberalism.
