Just popping in to check we're not signing anyone. Everything seems in order. Tra tra

Being a Liverpool fan in the January transfer window is like being a Victorian street urchin at Christmas. You can only look in envy through gas lit windows as others tear the shiny wrapping from presents, while you stand shivering in the cold.

Not sure that one works any more mate.  Being a Liverpool fan in the January transfer window is like being a Victorian street urchin at Christmas who's parents were given a wedge of cash during the year, but blew it on the most expensive Christmas Crackers in the world which had nothing inside and never even went bang.

They had to play Milner as a striker a week or two ago because all the strikers were injured, doubt they'd let any go now.

Jovetic likely to be dropped from the CL squad so presumably he's going to be pissed off, demotivated, leaving in the summer anyway. It's the worst of their lot, but I'd take him over any of our current options

Guest Numero Veinticinco

We couldn't steal a bag of sugar away from Real never mind Reus.

Disagree, mate. I think if we did our homework, asked the owners for extra money and extra backing, talked to all parties and did a little bit of persuading, we might very well end up getting that bag of sugar.

We'd end up with a jar of Canderel from Real Murcia.

Silver spoon sugard demands an expensive but quality tea to go with it, whereas Asda's own brand shows promise, but only needs to be paired with Asda's 1,000,000 teabags for 50p.

All well and good but we are trying to buy Twinings tea at Tesco Value range prices. Ayre is fucking clueless.

Do we have any chance for Reus in the summer. We should offer him everything he wants and try to steal him from Real or whoever..but not probable.

No chance. 0% chance. He's available for £25m in the summer I think. Real, Barca, Bayern, Chelsea, Man City, PSG, Arsenal will all be in for him, it would take something extra special for him to turn down at least 7 clubs ahead of us. That's not to mention clubs like Juventus and Man Utd who we could compete with (not financially with Utd) but he'd still probably choose them ahead of us as its a more than likely chance of silverware.

Our best hope was buying him in the summer for a considerable amount more than the £25m release clause. For whatever reason, probably his ankle injury, nobody went in for him. He's more than likely been told unofficially in the summer by Real or Barca to hang around Dortmund another season and we'll buy you next year to save on the extra £20-30m they'd have had to spend on him.
