Adam Lallana

Can't remember being this certain about a signing for a long time. Proper player, performed in the league we're playing in already, goals, creativity, captain of his side and an ridiculous work rate. He's perfect for what we're doing.

Only one player in the league made more sprints than Jordan Henderson last season. Lallana. And they were a fair bit clear of the pack.

£20m and £70k is fuck all for him.

This is what you get with English players, the runaround and absolute extortion, they're really not worth the hassle. I'm struggling to think of a great English signing that's been worth that kind of dollar, Shearer (allowing for inflation) when he went to Newcastle and possibly Rooney are the only ones where I've thought they were worth spending big on.

Lallana is not worth £30m, we paid £20m for a 26 year old downing, and this us similar territory, for £30m and 26 years old there is no easing in time he'd have to be performing from 1st game at a top level to justify fee

I would struggle to get on board paying £30m for Lallana but there is no comparison with Downing to be had. Downing wasn't good enough for us at any price. Lallana, I think would be.

Southampton wont sell him to us for a reasonable price (i.e £20 million or below) because of the 25 % sell on clause. The only this will happen is if we overpay (which we shouldnt) or Lallana kicks up a fuss.

Its not worth them selling him for 15 million net they get especially as he signed a contract last summer.

.

Shearer celebrated his 26th birthday a month or so after signing for Newcastle.

Still a bargain, one of the best strikers in the world, England captain, leader and model professional who'd just had a storming Euro 96. Lallana has had a good season, nothing more.
