Mr and Mrs Smith. Good, I enjoyed it but it won't be to everyone's taste. The assassinating takes a back seat to the dramedy and the relationship story

I’m watching this at the moment. Can see why the reviews are a little mixed but overall I like it.

Griselda was a cracker. 8.5/10 for me. The only thing that spoilt it was looking up what the real Griselda looked like.

Good to see some positive noises about Loudermilk too. I've been watching a couple of weeks, I only have 3 episodes to go, I might even finish them later. Another 8.5 for me.

And interesting to see some ted shouts. I was going to fuck it off as most of the reviews I saw slated it. I might give it a go, especially now Loudermilk is just about done.

Zorro - 6/10. Amazon series that doesn’t appear to have been released on UK Amazon yet. Not sure if it’s a Mexican or Spanish production, but there isn’t enough Zorro action in it and he seems curiously under skilled for a 19th century Spanish Army special forces (well kind of inferred in the first episode) bod.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Ted last night. Second one had me laughing out loud a few times.

Childish comedy, right up my street.

The Vietnam dog story....the look on the faces of the other characters including Ted had me roaring with laughter

What didn't you like about it? I know nothing of her story really, outside of the headline stuff - so if it wasn't true to to the story I would have no idea. But I found it raced along, some decent characters in there and really the only thing I'd say is it felt maybe there was more to the story than was told. But I'm not sure they always know that stuff anyway.

I've not finished it but they definitely improved her looks somewhat. Was shocked find out the actress was 51 as well.

The Outsider

Decent first two episodes, grisly, definitely had a Chris Carter atmosphere to it; reminded me a bit of Millennium. Then they introduce some autistic woman, and she's dead brainy but odd. Annoyingly Sherlock-like. As with most Stephen King stories, it just ends up reminding me of something ridiculous Garth Marenghi would write.

5/10

That's Holly Gibney. She started off in the Mr Mercedes trilogy (which is very good, btw) as a sweet, shy but very intelligent woman with crippling social anxiety who helps the detective out as she's a whizz on computers and has a great memory for details. In the Outsider series, not only is she black for some reason, but she's also turned into an absolute genius with almost god-like levels of perception. Really weird choice.

I enjoyed the first couple of series of Loudermilk but went off it and didnt return once he got left with the baby and the big fella left,I believe? It just got too samey and 'jumped the shark' as I remember.

Episode 7 =, Ted declares that he might be Jesus

Shhh! Not got there yet.  Just watched the Porn one. had us both in stitches.

As an aside the actor who plays his mum is a bit of a sort when out of character...

Sounds like she was a much better character in the book. She ruined the atmosphere on the show. It was moving along like a creepy police procedural. What would cops do when faced with the supernatural. Then up pops Sherlock-meets-Rain Man.

Might give Mr Mercedes a go though.

The series and books are very enjoyable. Brendan Gleeson is very good as the retired detective and Justine Lupe plays a much better version of Holly. The problem with the Outsider is that it starts off brilliantly, then Holly gets introduced almost as a deus ex machina, especially in the series, and it fizzles out a bit.

It was interesting too to put a face to some of the voice characters in Family Guy. Seth MacFarlane aside. Cleveland's voice was there as was one of those announcer voices who was the Doctor in the hospital for the colonoscopy episode.
