We all have some songs we are not supposed to like, but you still for some reason find them catchy in parts or just like the song even if you cant stand the artist or the genre.

Lets take some of mine, one old and two more recent ones.

Never understood the term. If it's good it's good, why feel guilty.

I understood it in my teens when whether a tune was cool or not mattered. However, I soon left that shit behind. Music is music and if I like it, I couldn't give a shiny shite if other people don't. That said, I do get a buzz out of evangelising a tune and getting other people into it.

There's plenty of stuff other people would consider naff that I love. Off the top of my head, Blue by Wham and Fastlove by George Michael spring to mind. Also Brown Eyes Blue by Crystal Gayle and loads of disco on the cheesy side of the genre too.

Nonsense, Melons. Nowt wrong with a bit of C&W - the cheesier and schmaltzier the better.

"Blue" is boss, totally agree on that one. I have a massive soft spot for this band (and this song in particular) but if i'm honest, i have no idea why.

Do Wheatus count? I'm not sure if it's considered okay to like them or not.

I like songs by Lady Gaga (quite a few actually), Katy Perry, and even Girls Aloud.

Surely Teenage Dirtbag is up there with Teenage Kicks - songs that epitomize the teen experience?

I am very confused by my fascination with this:

  • 10 months later...

I know someone who is a social worker, and there are these two arl fellas who live together that he has to check on. They are about 60 and can get dressed and make their dinner and stuff, but need help with shopping and so on.

My word as a gentleman, they are named Charles and Eddie.

How the hell can Prince - one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time in any genre - be a guilty pleasure? He plays everything to a fucking ridiculously high standard, writes, produces, choreographs, directs and is insanely prolific. No-one should feel even vaguely guilty about loving Prince. He is music.
