Daryl didn't exist in the comics, and he has some of the traits of Dwight. It's like GOT in that it is not following exactly the same path.

It's impossible to avoid spoilers on this anyway.  It's everywhere.

And the way the second death was shown and drawn out was fucking shocking/out of order.

 

No humanity for that character and the bigger implications of his death whatsoever. Just pure shock tactics to make an impact on the audience and get people talking about it again.

I think the general rule, in practise, is that if it's a show that is played on TV here within a week of being on US telly, then posts stay behind spoiler tags until it has aired here.

If it follows the comics then Rick will submit at first and then begin to draw up plans eventually with King Ezekiel or whatever the tiger botherer was called

Excellent viewing.  Managed to turn around the shitty ending of season 6 and have a suspense filled episode.  In 40 odd minutes Negan becomes universally hated.

 

I expect it to go slow for a while now as they introduce numerous new characters.  Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
