Si, I know fuck all about Chemistry, however I do know shit loads about Physics and Engineering. Hope this helps.

On a serious note, if you are that convinced stick with it and keep at it if you think it will work out. Even if it doesn't better to try and fail than to never have loved at all, or something.

P.S. Can I lend a fiver?

one of my mates gave me this exact spiel, "I just need to meet with the people at Heinz, and I'm going to be set for life..." etc. etc. His genius idea was a mixture of Mayonnaise and Ketchup, and he was going to call it 'Tomayo'

He still sells shit weed by the eighth.

I'm intrigued. Can someone root out the squirting-circle thing thread?

Simon.

I once mixed different flavour fruit juices and ended up finding the cure for Genital Warts.

Maybe you could try inventing something that would make you funny?

Ok i spoke to my guy, He was ok with me recording the call. He said the main problem is getting it to be Compulsary also the people i will be taking on are a huge company and its likely the government might step in to stop it. So he said my best bet would be to sell the idea and get future income through it he researched the company and found that they make near 200m a year. My idea is more expensive and would cost about half over the current price to buy. He reckons i could sell the patent when patented to this company for millions and still have future income over it.

Si, if they are making £200M a year with a product which is cheaper to make, then why would they want to buy your patent? Not saying it can't happen, but it seems unlikely.

Their purpose is to make money mate, not give it away.

Well its a Compulsary thing its legislation. but is useless when mine comes into play. It could effectively kill that company. In the area it is Money isn't a worry.

Without giving away too much about your product, what is the argument for making it compulsory to use it when their existing one works? Also where is the mileage for politicians to go up against a company with a £200M market?

It's purpose has a flaw which mine exploits mate, he works in the medical trade and said he has heard of the government stepping in to stop certain stuff being sold.

Politician's will support whatever gives them political capital or financial inducement in the main (allegedly).

How serious is the flaw?

If he thinks your idea is better then patenting that shit may not be a bad move, but bear in mind there will be hoops to jump through, and there is no guarantee of any return.

Serious enough to have a disc shaped object that could be flexible or moulding and squirts a liquid that could be foam dropped on it.

So in summary, your amazing idea is already being made by another company ( rendering your secrecy pointless), it's being made cheaper than you could make it for, and the only thing standing between your idea and world domination is that you can't force everybody to abandon the cheaper version and be made to buy yours.

Si, I worked for a long time with stuff relating to the safety/fire related systems and also with gas/oil pipeline related engineering (not going to divulge more than that openly on here), to be frank even in an industry which is safety critical to the point of lives being dependent on it 9 times out of 10 the bottom line is what matters.

It's a big ask to try and get a company to take on something that would be more expensive to make than what they make now.

As Zig says, getting legislation changed is a seriously big undertaking if that is what you are expecting/wanting to happen. Not to say something like that is impossible but it's not as simple as "oh that's a good idea it should be compulsory" and it will happen.

Your wrong mate if its made compulsary then no one has a choice.Your talking about 30p more expensive. There are a lot of hurdles but after going to the right people when the prototype is done it will be made compulsary problem is and always will be money for a Factory etc for it to be made one thing for sure it would need massjive investment if i decided to take it on. So selling it is probably best.
