Thiago doesn't get a starting place in this team.

Yeah at best now he gets on to help see a game out/give players a bit of rest in a game that is won.

Might start a 2nd leg of a european tie we are well ahead in from 1st leg - but frankly his time here is more or less over anyway and the midfield has been totally remodelled in terms of the intensity and how it supports both the defence and attack.

Just cannot believe Klopp can leave this team behind. We could have some absolute glory years.

The team will still be here, the foundations are solid - yeah the man who built it and who has done so much won't be here, but we've seen this film before - greats and legends come and leave indelible marks, as he has - but they also go and clubs still achieve great things...I am confident we will and as Klopp himself said he can't do us justice on 3 wheels - so based on that it is best for him and best for us that he goes.

The full backs have been a revelation this season.  All of our CBs are playing well, MacAllister has hit some form, Szlob has come out of the dip and is improving, Jones is consistently putting in strong performances, and the front players are doing great things.  Happy days.

I think you forget how good a fit Thiago is.

Do you really think that after nearly a year without playing, with one foot out the door and with a body made of crisps he has the intensity required to play in this team?

Anyway, Chelsea not getting any penalties tonight makes up for the softest ever penalty that they got at Anfield when Malouda just jumped into Steve Finnan and for Boswinga not getting sent off for hoofing Benayoun in the back.

These decisions tend to level themselves out. Even if you do have to go back more than a decade!

We had a definite one not given at Stamford Bridge this season too.

Having seen the highlights:

First Chelsea claim for a pen - fuck off, never in a million years.

Jota and Chilwell at Bradley's goal - 6 and 2 3's, would have been a travesty to disallow the goal.

Second Chelsea claim for a pen - should have been given, Virgil needs to knock that shit off.

Oh and Alan Shearer can fuck off, Liverpool got a penalty for less, my arse you baldy geordie gimp.

Aye, even if he manages to get back on the pitch in February which quite frankly I have no idea if he will, it'll take him what remains of the season to get back up to speed, if he doesn't crock himself again in the process.

He's a wonderful idea - but sadly with us the reality has never quite matched the idea....

With injuries and internationals (plus our occasional winter malaise) I thought January was going to be a slog.

Reader, we pissed it (as Charlotte Brontë would say).

Shearer thought Newcastle had replaced us in the top four and is salty about how it’s going.
