Not only that, we're down a senior midfielder that who's been playing as a regular CB.

And the other midfielder playing at CB doesn't have the best injury record himself.

We're setting ourselves up for a Phillips/Williams partnership in the near future.

That was just much much better all round. Good performance, good intensity, good movement, good creativity and clinical finishing when required.

Although it did look like Sadio's early miss had cost us when Son found the net. Alisson looked a bit slow in trying to deal with it, going with his hand instead of his leg (you lot owe me money when Dave mentions that in his match report as we know that type of goalkeeping is a pet peeve of his). VAR came to our rescue and it was Son's feet that had him offside in the build-up. That's how it should be used, not other body parts and arbitrary attempts at finite accuracy.

We moved the ball about well and, although Son had another presentable chance, most of the action was taking place at the other end. We were getting opportunities but hitting them all straight at Lloris. The we found the net right on the stroke of half time with a classic Liverpool goal. Bobby simply could not miss.

Big Bird had to come off at half time (hoping that it's only minor still means a return some time in February!) and was replaced by Phillips. Spurs had to make a couple of changes of their own, taking off the injured St Harold of Mouthbreathershire and changing their shape to get more bodies in midfield.

We started the second half like a train. Mo should have scored before Trent did. Great bit of opportunism from the right back, who looked more like his usual self tonight. Then we switched off for a brief moment, and Hojbjerg pulled a goal back. Decent effort but we looked like we'd been caught cold.

Mo thought he'd scored but a handball against Bobby in the build-up saw Atkinson chalk it after after reviewing the footage. Who knows what the rule is now. He didn't get the final assist and he didn't score the goal after the ball had (inadvertantly) touched his arm. I thought those were the factors to decide when ruling a goal out like that.

No matter as Sadio put the game to bed. Cracking finish after Rodon didn't deal with Trent's cross. After that, Spurs just wilted and we were professional, making them chase and chase.

Overall, it was much more like our usual selves, and that's what we need in every game for the rest of the season.

Don't understand why Phillips hasn't been starting since Nov.

His passing is awful and he’s no pace. He’s very good in the air. If Antonio is starting for West Ham on Sunday you’ll get to see why he shouldn’t be a first choice player for us.
