there seems to be very little nuance around.

If you think we should think carefully before getting involved in another messy middle eastern conflict, you think the houthis are a great bunch of lads.

If you have concerns about whats happening in gaza, you are a terrorist sympathiser.

Who says anyone who believes these things is a terrorist sympathiser? I'll say right now though, that anyone who thinks the Houthis are a great bunch of lads is a massive cunt in my book.

And, on the question of nuance, what do you make of the propaganda and outrageous remarks that the openly racist @planetorigi has been spouting relentlessly in this thread? Nuanced?  What, in particular, did you make of that same cunt saying only yesterday in this thread that I'm "supporting and enabling the actual slaughter of babies" because I *checks notes* support the Labour party. Nuanced?

What am I to make of the fact that you haven't called him out?

Plenty of people have called those who want peace in Gaza "terrorist sympathisers". See Corbyn for one.

I was thinking more on this forum, but in the case of Corbyn, as you know, the guy was filmed calling Hamas his friends, and only recently, couldn't bring himself to call them terrorists in an interview. And while I don't think he is, he kind of leaves himself open to those accusations, which he seems to belatedly recognise when he rows back on those remarks.

But back to my question, I would like to know why this complaint of a lack of nuance from Arnie seems to be directed in one direction.

Houthis bad, genocide and mass baby slaughter enabling Labour party good.

Sounds about white.

Its called a binary and it’s the result of idiots having access to all the information in the world and only ever looking for things that confirm their ‘beliefs’ which helps them sleep at night knowing that their opinions are better than everyone else’s as they called Racheal Riley a cunt on Twitter, so they win, you hear, THEY WIN!

But Rachel Riley is a cunt and so are you, you're a pompous cunt.  Don't care who wins tbh you'll still be a pair of cunts. It's what you are.

It's called calling you a cunt.

I don't know anyone who thinks the houthis are a great bunch of lads.

I do think getting entangled in a another pointless foreign conflict, should be treated with a little bit of caution.

I've been called a terrorist sympathiser on twitter plenty of times.

I don't really read what he says tbh,but considering approx 95% of the forum are Labour supporters, surely those comments apply to most of us?

But it is treated with a little bit of caution. So far, it has largely been motivated by the Western powers not allowing Yemeni rebels dictate and decide who will pass through Suez and who will have to go around Africa.

The decision to attack seems to have been made fairly quickly.?

And the logic that such action was intended to calm down the situation is surely a piss take?

They are saying it was made after repeated warnings, diplomacy and a fairly massive drone and missile attack on a military ship escorting commercial ships or something. And after weeks of calls from various circles to do something and respond.

I think it's hard to look at the situation without the context of what's happening in palestine.

This country is happily watching 1000s of innocent people getting slaughtered, but a few cargo ships get threatened and its all systems go.

I mean

I suppose you could make the same argument for the west a few 100 years ago when we were going round raping and pillaging half the world.

Even now,as seen on here, the west(over 400,00 dead civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan) are the good guys and the other lot are the bad guys.

Us and the America have repeatedly stuck our nose in into the middle east, often with disastererous consequences, and then act shocked when it bites us on the arse.

But don’t you want west led intervention in the Gaza situation mate?

Let me ask you something, do you honestly believe, hand on heart, that what Iran and its proxies and allies have been doing over tha past three months is simply a reaction to the current Israel's Gaza operation? That this is the only context?

No, I get that, but even Labour speaking out and pushing for peace as people want them to, that’s still the West involving themselves.

They've had one for decades.

As for this Houthi stuff...fuck knows. Some Middle Eastern expert on the BBC basically just said whatever your view of them, our actions aren't going to work. They don't give a fuck, and this is just going to embolden their support in the region.

I don't know much, but I do know capitalism protects itself. The Red Sea is a major transit route, so if they don't stop then the US will bomb the fuck out of them till they do. I might be wrong, but I'd bet on the country that spends over $750 billion on defence annually.
