Not for me, thanks. I'd rather us just make FSG richer, sign nobody, win nothing and be crying cunts at the end of every season whilst Utd/Chelsea/Whoever else laugh at us.

Utopia.

You can aspire to more without accepting the status quo or going to the other extreme.

This forum is littered with posts turning their noses up at Chelsea, Man City PSG, China yet the minute it starts going against us people want to be part of it.

The only way we'll possibly be happy is if their's a multi-billionaire living in spitting distance of Anfield who can be both seen and unseen (depending on results), who'll pump million upon million into the club buying the players the supporters want, whilst not interfering with the manager, who does so completely altruistically shunning anything that could be considered a reward and handing the club to the supporters. Pickings are slim.

We need the next:-

Pepe Reina

Sami Hyppia

Jamie Carragher

Xabi Alonso

Mascherano

Steven gerrard

John Barnes

Luis Suarez

Fernando Torres

Can't think of one great left back to play for us but we need one of them too. Ashley Cole type will suit

Only one of them won a league winners medal with us. Madness, we are cursed.

If we could keep hold of them for at least 2 seasons after they have the breakthrough world class year then we'd be sitting on 22 leagues now. It's just that we can't fucking wait to cash in on them and forget everything that makes any form of sense.

One of their daughters works in my place. Shall I tell her to go visit their gravesend tonight and get her to break the curse?. She even looks like a witch too.

There's always time for another (black) mass Doc. Failing that, can you not take her out and give her a kiss at the end of the night? We could be looking at an alternative princess and the frog tale here

Edit - is gravesend not too far for you

It's a game, and having loads of money to play it with would make it more fun. You know, transfer windows where stuff happens like. I'd love some of that.

Then I'd go and join a West Brom forum calling myself "Liverpool Funball Club" and tell them what their management were doing wrong whilst posting pictures of our new multi sqillion quid training facility.

Predictive twatting text!

I'll get my mate to do it as he'd shag anything. She looks like the ghost kid who hides under the bed sheets in that film "The others"

Still don't understand why we didn't push the boat out for Kante in the summer, or Arsenal for that matter. £32m that's £7m more than Wijnaldum. Arsenal paid more for Xhaka. I'm sure he'd have picked Arsenal over Chelsea when you factor in the Champions League. He'd have been perfect for this team and I'm sure we'd be in Chelsea's position right now.

Kessie or William Carvalho are the 2 I'd go for, I haven't seen that much of Kessie but read good reviews on him and watched a few YouTube videos. We could do with a ball winner who can keep the ball and then a big fucker out and out ball winner to play alongside him and if we play with a midfield 3 someone who can pass the ball round and drive on with it.

What's happened with the Neves links, I know he's sort of gone off the boil a bit but I still think he'd be an amazing signing, he's a deep lying playmaker we need to break down deep defences.

Push the boat out? There wasn't even a boat because our manager like his predecessor doesn't believe in having a proper defensive midfielder in his team. Maybe that will lead to his downfall like it did with Rodgers.

Even if we were interested in Kante, he would have still chosen Chelsea as they would have offered him more in wages added with the London aspect.

Ibe - Sadio

Skrtel - Matip

Allen - Wijnaldum

or, if you want an older one:

Kippe - Hyypia

I get your point, and more or less agree with it, but have to say that you're not exactly presenting the full picture.

I'd originally posted these names as the type of players we should be targeting this summer. Got me thinking of how it would have been if we'd have kept them, then the black clouds descended and it made me think who we replaced them with instead.

Weve been saying for as long as this forums existence, that when we've had the teams that have took us to within touching distance, we just need to buy 2 top class players to add to them to get us over the line. Instead, we sell the best players and replace them with shite no one other than our managers want. I'm convinced our managers have mental breakdowns the minute the 1 successful season is over

We've needed this player since Mascherano left us, however for some reason the managers we've had just won't go near them despite the fact that having these type of players win you leagues. Seen someone saying on twitter that he's apparently on £160k per week so that definitely would have ruled us out

Wages would be the only reason why he'd pick Chelsea and maybe the London aspect but would that be an issue for a guy who lived in Leicester for a year? We could have at least tried to get him is what I'm saying, he's not even a defensive midfielder per say, he's just a ball winner he goes where the ball will land even it's in the oppositions box, he has some sort of sixth sense that seeks out danger and stops it, its crazy what he's doing.

£160k shouldn't rule us out though, I know your probably right but it shouldn't, when your paying Sturridge £140k Kante for £160k is a no brainier. Sell all the shitty backups and use their wages, Kante doesn't seem to miss games being injured. Sell Lucas and Stewart and don't buy Wijnaldum and there's his wages and most of his transfer fee, I'm not saying he'd have definitely come here but we could have even offered him more money than that, it's proven that a specialist in his position wins you leagues.

Kante, like Willian and others, likely decided to go to chelsea instead of here because they're a champions league club (except this season!).

I got the Willian one because Chelsea were in the champions league at the time but with Kante, Chelsea aren't in it and wasn't guaranteed to be with a new manager that could've taken a season to settle if at all. We have a manager that should be able to attract world class players and everyone could see the improvement we made under him last year so it was likely an attractive proposition but in hind sight he made the right call, Chelsea are strolling to the league and with a few decent signings could do very well in the champions league next season.

With the exception of Leicester and Kante I'm struggling to think of any other examples unless I go back to Chelsea with Makelele.  Arguably City with Fernandinho?
