You could have Hansen and Hyypia playing centre back and it wouldn't make a difference if Henderson is playing on his own in front of them.

Is karius every three 3rd choice keeper for Germany though?

 

And with all due respect to the Germans. I don't think their goalkeeping situation is like the Spanish threo from a few years ago who really all where very very close in quality.

That spending shouldn't really be out of the question with all our sales and tv money. Spending them amounts should get you a good team aswell to be honest.

I'd fuck Henderson off. He's not the reason we're so shit but seriously, he's the club fucking captain. When we sign these young players and they look to Henderson as the standard, the guy who they can either aspire to be or the one they look to for guidance and leadership, well it's no wonder they turn out like Can or Moreno.

 

We either need a Roy Keane who can call them out for being the poncey little bitches they are or a Stevie G who can at least set the bar. Someone people actually want to play with.

 

A new GK someone with the same sort of profile as Handanovich.

 

A CB, someone who marshalls the defence and kicks fucking lumps out of the oppo.

 

The aforementioned CM, and a BBDM.

 

A forward like Mane and someone to lead the line.

I've figured out our main problem is more or less every team we play have this wizard Emre Can creating chances for them out of the blue. He's so good even Hansen and Hyypia in their prime would struggle.

FSG have no desire to gamble on winning the league or competing for top players. They're happy to finish 6th because the domestic and overseas TV money is still so mega that they can live with only occasionally being in the Champions League. 

 

The Champions League is not the holy grail that it was under Moores. Back then, qualifying for it made a big difference to the transfer spend. Not any more. Sadly for FSG, being in the CL is important for the really good players. It's why Gotze turned us down last summer and it's why Ter Stegen wouldn't even talk to us last summer despite Barcelona giving us permission. It's why Coutinho will leave us sooner rather than later. 

 

FSG's model club is Arsenal, a club that does enough to finish 4th every season, without ever seriously threatening to win the league. It's also ironic because Arsenal's supporters are even more disgruntled than ours at their own clubs lack of ambition.

For me it's all about the midfield. We need players who are comfortable on the ball not afraid of it. Players who can dictate a game. We need at least 2 of these types as at the moment the forward line all buzz around making spaces but the only one that is not trying to pick out a defender with every pass is little Phil.

 

We don't suffer from a lack of movement we suffer from everyone leaving it to little Phil, which everyone has figured out and because of that he gets crowded out.
