Milner better than Konoplanka? Xerxes you utter Dickhead.

Konoplyanka at 12m he can be the bargain of this summer. I was screaming for years for Arda Turan(Liverpool fan) and Diego Ribas. Look at Atletico now. Champions in Spain and in the CL final too

Sign Konoplyanka or Turan for the wing.

I don't get this. So we sent Ayre out to hammer a deal out back in January, we were all set to get him and now suddenly we're not even bothered? Have our priorities shifted so much or were they that wrong when they tried to sign him? Either way, it doesn't exactly shift the perception that our transfer policy is as haphazard as me trying to play darts.

They have come around to my way of thinking that Ukrainian players do not travel well.

You can count with thumbs the good Ukrainians that have played outside of the old Soviet block.

English players, by contrast, are notable for travelling so well.

I'm pleased we are after other players. I don't think he particularly fits our style. He plays from deep, stays on his flank and doesn't really pass the ball. He wouldn't be a bad signing as he's an excellent dribbler and seems to have pace, but if we can find someone more willing make runs inside and behind the last man they'd fit into our attack much better.

Sanchez please.

When english players do go abroad they normally do alright. Very rare that they do of course.

That's true. But an English player who's willing to play abroad is already showing certain desirable characteristics, like a willingness to get off his ass and play outside his comfort zone. That's a good start and, as you say, very rare.

I think its a fair point.

Take away shevchenko and you are looking at the likes of Rebrov,Anatoliy Tymoshchuk,Dmytro Chygrynskiy all proving to be mid table fodder at best in Europe. What happened to Artem Milevskiy?, he ends up a flop in Turkey.

I do not think many Eastern European players adapt well outside of the Eastern leagues.I think its fair to say that the players can look great domestically over there as the league is pretty crap on the whole.

Guest Numero Veinticinco

That's a bad translation. What he actually said was "Man United? I'd rather be face-fucked by Andriy Voronin."

He's basically being coy about the situation. Reading between the lines he screamed 'A Liverbird upon my chest! We are men...' followed  by 'Play for those dirty Manc cunts with Bevis managing them? I'd sooner suck Nellie Boswell's bum hole'.
