Ged's tenure is underrated and he shouldn't of been sacked for finishing 4th.

This is more an observation than amnesty. Sort of want code back, as since he has been banned TK seems to think he should start a new thread every 2 hours.

He did special things for the club, but Houllier's lifespan in the role was about perfect for me judged on the prevailing culture of those times.  A year earlier, even though it was perfectly clear the rot had set in, and it would have seemed hasty.  A year later and it would have become increasingly messy and painful.

 

Incredible that such relative patience and loyalty from the club already seems quaint in this era.

There were all sorts of reasons that he was sacked, but he left us in the CL. If a manager gets us in the CL positions at the end of the season, he's not getting sacked.

Different era though. Competition now is far greater. It was the 'big four' for years, and the way we played that year was like watching a team that needed change
