Based on this thread I got my mum to phone up and cancel their subscription. She wasn't offered anything over the phone, and two and a bit weeks later has yet to have a call. She has, however, been emailed a questionnaire asking her for her reasons for cancelling. Has everyone else been sent this? I really want this to work, as much for the fact that my brother thinks I'm talking out of my arse as saving her money.

 

Any update, Mr waffle? (I can hardly call you 'shit' in my first question to you, can I ?)

It turns out my Mum hadn't given their notice until a week after she said she had, in spite of my constant reminders that she needed to time it around their holiday. Their final day was therefore in the middle of their holiday; they're still away and I'm assuming they no longer have Sky. Doofuses.

I have similar suspicions that he never gave notice at all. We're still connected

I can't understand why you haven't had the offer yet Champ, I've been telling everyone about it and almost all the people I've spoken to have been offered the deal. The ones who haven't lost their bottle when it came to cancelling and backtracked after being put through to cancellations.

 

You should defo get a call soon.

Did you take into account the 3 bank holidays in our 28 days notice? Maybe it's working days?

 

 

Intrigued to the result on this as I've been pondering to threaten to leave Sky in a long time.

 

Never thought of that. And in fact, in Scotland its 4 Bank Holidays. Jan 2 is a Bank Holiday too

My sub cancelled on Thursday and I rang them yesterday. I said I'd been advised to speak to someone on the "Win back team" and that I wanted to be put through. The win back team said I shouldn't really have been put through to them and that they didn have any offers on at the minute but he'd see what he coild do. First he offered me free multi room for a year but that's of no use to me so I ended up with a full HD sub half price (movies and sports for £33) for six months with no tie in which I took. I guess I'll be doing the same thing again in five months.

 

The win back team have the best offers.

Or sky have ignored him, the amount of companies I've had to ring twice to cancel something is untrue.

 

This is my thought just now. Oh, it would be so much easier if I could just ring them up. He's been working all weekend so I've just been biding my time
