I wouldn't mind overpaying for genuine quality, we specialise in wading in and overpaying for players when there's no competition for the player we're targeting.

We had a real fight on our hands from other clubs to land the likes of Lovren, Markovich or Lallana for £20+ million each.

Probably Spurs.

Didn't Henderson (of all players, stand up to him last season, pointing to the tunnel as if to say 'Straightener later you caveman cunt)?

Think it was more of a long, lingering look. Hardly Souness or Jimmy Case territory.

Stevie stood up to him at Stamford Bridge and it didn't get half the attention.

I'd love if we'd a player like Costa. I reckon we'd have little problem playing down his regular antics.

Reading a Man City forum about Sterling, and it's all comments like:

"So far he's been the younger,English, version of Navas.Fast, works hard ,shit in front of goal,no consistent end product.
Still time for improvement."

"I think it's fair enough to question him, the fee was an absolute joke and he has some pretty glaring faults, the main one being he cant actually seem to kick a football properly.

It's also fair enough to say he's only young, can improve and all that stuff."

I like him. I think he'll be a snip at 49 million but today he was fucking gash.

He seems to do abit to much on his own sometimes ,plus he gets pushed off the ball abit easy, still think he will get better though

Cost us the game midweek with his piss poor shooting and was invisible yet again but he's only in his early 20's so of course it's a given that he will definitely become world class in the next few years.

It's utterly bizarre at how they can identify all his faults, faults that he showed here and still continues to show, and then still be utterly convinced that, just because he is 20, it is a foregone conclusion that he is going to suddenly emerge as a world class player at some point in the future.
